Those new prices are a joke. Rip off Great Britain.

I’m not defending them, but it has gone up by £5 from what I paid in June. They aren’t saying there is a special early booking discount at the moment so £5 seems very good considering inflation.

Wow just seen next year's prices. £589 for two standard tickets. Just checked this year's email confirmation and paid £422 for the same. They were bought in Novemeber after initial lineup release so they weren't some sort of pre-sale although it looks like we got a !0% Barclaycard discount.

I really like the festivalot but sure that a near 40% hike can be justified.

I paid £290 including booking fee in June.

Can anyone advise if its ok to bring a 10kg gas canister it’s all I currently have in the website it’s says max canisters over 2.7kg,

    😒

That’s from the “Banned items” section, so that implies it must be less than 2.7kg. This says gas canisters for gas stoves must be less than 250g.  https://www.latitudefestival.com/information-category/the-essentials/

Either way, you can’t take a 10kg one in.

Yep, good stuff. We have similar tastes!

Given the likely rain, the trek from the car to the camp site and that this is my family's first Latitude, do people recommend taking large bags or wheelie suitcases - what do most people normally take? TIA.

I wouldn’t recommend wheelie suitcases on that terrain, loose gravel, long grass in some places, uneven surfaces. There are trollies for hire, but they are not cheap (not hired one myself but I seem to remember they were around £25, and I think only for that day).

  5. Have you tried using Eventim rather than Ticketmaster?  It seems to allow you to only select an accompanied teen ticket, although it states they must be purchased with an adult ticket.  Make sure you choose either family camping or normal camping obviously.

No idea if this will work.

How busy was it compared to last year?

Couldn't make it this year for various reasons really.

Last year with it being the first full UK camping festival since RONA it seemed absolutely insanely busy last year.

How was it this year, toilet queues, crowding in tents etc etc.

I don’t think it was quite as busy, especially remembering how busy Saturday was last year. Queues about the same for toilets and showers though and family camping about the same. Maybe the number of day tickets was less this year?

Wow app is even worse than usual!  On tablet, still can't get it on my phone.

Spend a lot of time at Comedy which seems to have 3 acts on at the same time.

Also 3D seem to be missing from schedule, hoping that's an oversight and not a cancellation.

The "map" is laughable, if they were going to just have simple map why even bother overlaying on top if Google Maps?

You'd think Festival Republic could afford a decent app developer.

The map is much improved today. Click on the stars and it shows who is playing that stage. Coolio.

It's diabolical! Just tried to use the schedule and it's so poor. It has acts on Wednesday! The overlaps are weird, the layout is so unintuitive.

It can't have been reviewed properly before it was released.

Happens each year. A few years ago it was only corrected on the Friday of the festival.

Hi all, looking for some guidance, first time camping at Latitude (and also on these forums!). I see it opens at 8am on the Thursday, from previous experience what time do most people arrive? Does it get really busy queuing to get in at certain times etc. And is there a good time to turn up to ensure a decent camping spot?!

It’s only last year it opened at 8am (for Covid checks) and previously was at lunchtime. It doesn’t take too long if there is a queue but they are pretty efficient. You can always just take your tents and tickets in for the first run and go back for other stuff later - you don’t have to go through the same checks once you have got your wristbands.

  10. Any experience with Vodafone at Latitude? I’ve been many times before and I’ve had phones on the EE network which worked well. Just wondering what Vodafone is like there?

    cheers

Anyone who (like me) loved VLURE - they're playing a free show in London on Thursday 26th August, tickets on DICE 👍

Thanks.  They were great. I thought the frontman was going to nut someone at the beginning,  but that all changed.

But how are they going to get results? wasn't the Sefton Park gig dependent on people doing LFTs afterwards? Latitude don't even know who was at the festival - only the names of those who bought the ticket. And I've not been asked if I tested positive. I think once the government gave the green light for festivals, Melvin pulled the budget and decided to just do a bit of smoke and mirrors

I had to supply the contact details for all the people in my group (received an email asking for the details just before the festival), so if any of those notes test positive then they know they were at Latitude.

Assuming they were working to the same guidance I was given, they'd have been checking that the covid status said what it should, was currently valid (specifics depending on what type of status was being used), and that the DoB of the person broadly matched the person presenting it (though only checking it if it appeared clearly off).

I believe that trying to match the names to the tickets was tried initially, but quickly discarded as unworkable.

It's almost like friends of the conservative party get special treatment.

Yes, our status was checked carefully on entry to Family camping (we were there when it opened). They sent some people away as their child’s test was more than 2 days before. On re-entry on Saturday ours were checked carefully again.

I want to the Goodwood Festival of Speed which was also a test event. They hardly glanced at the QR code on the NHS app.

Sweet mother of mercy, the Chemical Brothers were fucking incredible tonight. The new tunes destroy

And they were so loud. I was by the raised seats and it was as though I was near the front.

Bouncer on the door said it was last night. Just seen other people saying they do accept card? I think as the signals bad it might be slower. Or the bouncers got a deal with the bloke who owns the cashpoint next door.

Some places use Latitude’s Wifi for their payment machines and it had an issue, I hear. For example, co-op was cash only for a time last night. Other places not using Wifi were fine so only taking card payments.

Looking forward to probably camping near some of you closest to the arena then!

Any predictions / guesses for what (or more likely who) will be going on at the BBC Sounds between 13:50 and 16:00 on the Sunday? Has to be a special guest, right? 😁

Don't get too excited about that gap.  There have been gaps previously and no one has filled it.  Fingers crossed though.

They can just join you I think as family camping area is not actually restricted area once in -  they just need to say they are joining their family?

They made me phone my daughter to come out and meet me. Maybe it’s just me. lol

Got some friends without kids who've just decided come and join us (with kids) in family camping. How hot are they on the gate about letting people without kids into family camping?

Can they just pretend they have a  kid and it's already on site friends when they arrive or something??

They have to be camping in a group which has someone who is 16 or younger in the group, and must have a family camping ticket. They don’t have to be family.  If they are arriving after you then you just need your young person to meet them at the family camping entrance (where they check tickets and give out wristbands).  Not a problem. It’s what we do. Not sure they would let them in if they arrived before you. They are pretty hot on who gets into family camping, for obvious reasons.

No, Resale Tickets are a separate entity. All you get is a confirmation of the order and that tickets have been sent but no actual ticket - digital or otherwise so far

That's strange, as all Latitude tickets for humans (i.e. no campervans) are print at home now.  Even from resellers.  I would expect these to be the same.

A clashfinder would be very much appreciated if anyone has the time and effort to make one this evening. It's a lot easier to visualise than on the app with just set times.

In the app, click the "schedule" symbol to the left of "Jul 22 THU".  It shows you something similar to CF then.

Good point. Still think that leaves a gap though?!

We've stood in the BBC Music tent for a "gap" before, and nothing turned up.  My experience is that most surprise guests appear at the smaller stages, but you never know!
