Thought there was once upon a time, no?

No cornelius fudge I don't mean it's our own fault.
What I am saying is that Western Intervention in the Middle East has not exactly endeared us to Islamic nations as a whole.
A.k.a; it is our fault.

Unfortunately that's probably because Western Europe went to the Middle East!
Do you mean it's our own fault?

Secret sets are just pointless. There seems to be a consensus that they've been bad in the past, with very few people finding a good one. Pulp stands out, but that's about it as I've seen on the boards here.
If they're really your favourite band and you missed them or you caught them and the band decided to be a little experimental, ie playing music off their B-sides or lesser/new albums, you're basically going to despise them.
They're a massive waste of time. -

Hello,
I am currently doing my dissertation which is all about the environmental factors and initiatives set in place at Glastonbury.
In any spare time you have, please may you fill out my questionnaire as it would be a great help with my studies!
Thank you very much!!

Which reminds me......Was watching the one hit wonder programme on the iplayer at the weekend over a late night refreshment. One of the tunes immediately reminded me of Ed, next thing a wee caption came up on screen saying that Sheeran had worked as a roadie or something for the fella.
Apologies if this has already been covered but I had originally bought in to the Sheeran busker comes good, sells out wembley, headlines Glastonbury fairy tale. He`s not my cup of tea but I wasn`t going to begrudge the fella.
Now I`m not so sure.
If someone else is writing your songs and you are " acting " them out in the style of someone else ( if that`s what`s happening here ) then when is an " artist " an " actor " or " entertainer " and should they be headlining the pyramid....
These might not be the best choice of words and of course everyone up there will be an " entertainer "of sorts but from the video, it`s all rather familiar.
I remember this song and it's cute little hand drawn CD cover.
I didn't know of any link to the Sheerenator either but they do sound kind of similar, but then there's an awful lot of this kind of stuff about too. Clinkly little melodies and soft voices etc.
But I agree, if you're just up there as the face of someone else's writing and imagery then you're more entertainer than artist, and also not so wonderful at the same time.Beyonce had 72 "writers" on her last album apparently... not that many people seemed to care.

They had two rappers back to back with Pharrell and Kanye and Weller and The Who weren't exactly miles apart so even though they seem to stray from this a lot of the time, if Robbie was offering to play before I doubt they'd say no - that Pyramid crowd will be ginormous for those few hours (likewise with Gaga > Foos if it were to happen).
I'm not against same music/genres back to back per se, but two singers and/or songwriters back to back as Pyramid sub and headliner is pretty uninspiring. Bit of a bore fest for the Pyramid, but then Elbow into Coldplay wasn't any better either! Suppose my taste is out of sync with Robbie and Ed
Gaga into Foos though sounds much better, more lively, fully energetic.

Robbie subbing Ed? Two "singer songwriters/entertainers" back to back?
Good bloody grief -

Genuinely read this as "beautiful pedos all over".
It'll all come out in forty years. Give it time

My guess is that Radiohead will be getting a 1hr 45 min set, Foos a 2hr set, and Ed Sheeran a 1hr30min set. Radiohead will probably end up cutting out Deck's Dark and Desert island disk and cutting down to a 20/21 song set and Foos will do their usual 22 song set without any encores or nothing.
Really only a 1 hr 45 min slot for Radiohead? They did a lot of 2 hour sets last year including some confusing two encore sections.
They've said that Glastonbury is a real spiritual home for them, so I'd expect a slightly longer set, surely, no? -

Shame about the Radiohead vs Jamiroquai and the The XX vs Justice vs The Jacksons clashes, but marvelous none the less -
A Tribe Called Quest on the Pyramid Friday hip-hop slot? Or is that too early in the day? Wu Tang Clan and De La Soul were both awesome in that slot 2011 and 2014 respectively
Edit. Also Snoop Dogg thinking about it now. Perfect for ATCQ

Just had a look at the line up, the pyramid was pretty awful full stop that year. Made even worse by the fact that paul simon stunk the place out.
Yeah Simon was awful. I suppose we waited along with the other 20,000 just for You Can Call Me Al, but up to that point it was absolute drivel
-
Metallica were one that seemed unpopular in general but they were superb on the night and Stevie Wonder won the best headliner game thing on here that was done a few years back if I remember.
The whole of 2011 was pretty bland in terms of Pyramid headliners. A bit of a dud year -

Making me feel sick that it's looking to be at least £130 each for me and the gf to get down from Edinburgh with National Express. Haven't even got a ticket yet so will have to book after the resale if we're successful, don't quite know where we're gonna pull over £700 from to get it all booked in April
Checked Skyscanner. They've got some deals for about 80 pounds return. Could be a faster/more comfortable and cheaper option

I've a few mates who didn't get tickets, but would like to go, so the more drop outs the better, cheers

It'd be great if they were there. Actually prefer them to the Foo's, but they'd be worthy subs if it worked out like that

Now we're in the days of Spotify, don't normally listen to albums in full, but it's fun finding 12 albums to take with me, but here you go:
1. Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
2. Roots Manuva - Run Come Save Me
3. Radiohead - Kid A
4. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
5. Jurassic 5 - Power in Numbers
6. Jamiroquai - Synkronized
7. Muse - Showbiz
8. Radiohead - OK Computer
9. Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty
10. Metallica - Metallica/The Black Album
11. Rudimental - Home
12. Disclosue - Settle -
Was their performance in 2011 really that bad and a genuine reason that led them to break up? Seemed like a bit of strange placement before the new Queen of pop.
Would like to see them again. The show would be great surely in a more Pendulum friendly field... subbing the Other Stage for example. Would be also great to see Knife Party there too
