  5. Hi, I would like to open a thread for Pohoda festival 2019. It's the most popular open-air multicultural event in Slovakia. Which will be held for the 23rd time from Thursday 11 July until Saturday 13 July. Beside alternative, indie, electronic, world music, punk and classical music you can find also a lot of literature, dance, visual art, film and theatre events.

Beside concerts there are man attractions and whole airport area is beautifully decorated with contemporary art, flags, pianos, sunflowers etc. Growing number of foreigners attend this festival, all the announcements and information are provided in English and most of the festival attendants speak English. Festival is really cheap if you compare it to Western festivals or even festivals in Poland or Austria. You only have to pay the ticket price, camping, showers and other facilities are free. Beer costs around 1.3€ and a meal 4€-8€. Specific thing is that festival area is accessible all the time from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning and is connected with camping area so there is enough time to discover all the attractions without much walking. Festival is family friendly and there are many people with their children on site.

Ticket price is 99€ with the camping included. Tickets and accommodation can be bought at https://www.pohodafestival.sk/en/tickets you can use ambassador code XNWUC4 during checkout. to support me.

Capacity of the festival is limited to 30 000 people and it was sold out before the festival started in recent years.
There is also an option to buy pre-set tent, cottage or hotel room.
The closest airports to Pohoda are in Bratislava or Vienna then you’ll take train or bus to Trencin or Brno airport in Czech republic and then you’ll take bus to Trencin.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to post in this thread. I’m just a fan of this festival and I would like if more people invite Pohoda and could feel the great atmosphere it has.

  6. Yeah, basically it stayed the same since it moved to the industrial area, there are small improvements every year as the site gets reconstructed slowly with additional new nice buildings built there. I think that changed the gravel for finer one two years ago but it's still not very comfortable for concerts.  Downside is the that crowds are quite huge nowadays as it gains popularity. Beer is still good and cheap and there are a lot of healthier food options of course.

Great info, guys, thanks very much. My friend is panicking because you said there are no bars in the camping zone. I told him that the festival territory will probably be open 24 hours with beer and food stalls open 24 hours. Am I mistaken?

Festival area is closed until like 3-4pm, but campsite has beer and food stalls opened 24hours. But usualy people go eat to the Gdynia, Gdansk or other towns during the day.

  9. 5. a lot of people brings multiplugs to charge the phones in campsite and it's a great idea, I recommend to do that too.

    7. Toalets and showers are usually in great conditions. Cold showers are free but you can buy cupon for few pln for warm private showers and it's worth it!

  10. Lineup so far:

The Chemical Brothers, St. Vincent, Danny Brown, Glass Animals, Ziggy Marley, Fink, Aurora, Helena Hauff, Ross From Friends, Jessie Ware, Jamie Cullum, Riot Days by Pussy Riot Theatre, BadBadNotGood, Little Dragon, Ride, Rodriguez, Blossoms, La Femme, Knower, SOJA, Kronos Quartet, El Gust, Calexico , Idiotape, Charlie Winston, Sophie, Scouting for Girls, This Is The Kit, Confidence Man, Jade Bird, Bazzookas, Reykjavíkurdætur, Daniel Brandt and Eternal Something, Zeal & Ardor, KillASon, Donny Benét, Re-TROS, Coals, Mitch & Mitch, Rebel Babel, Lucidvox, Housewives, Ifriqiyya Électrique, Schnellertollermeier

  11. I live in Prague and I've been there two years ago, last year the lineup wasn´t that intesting for me. I wouldn´t say that the  festival is anything  special. If you are in Prague it´s cool to see few concerts during in the evening and see the city during day. Festival area is 10mins by public transport from the very centre of the town. I think chemicals are the biggest name maybe there will be one more bigger name announced. Last year there were 44 names with Sting and Kasabian headllining and more than a half of the names was Czech. If you have more questions don´t hesitate to ask. Btw Chemicals are playing two weeks after this at Pohoda festival in Slovakia what is way better festival.

What is the festival like after the main stages finish, are there areas playing electronic music for most of the night?

Hi, yes there are at least 3 big stages and few smaller playing electronic music / techno / drum’n’base until 5am when there is greeting of the sun at the main stage, which is the last concert of the day. First concert starts around noon. Before that there are discussions, theatre and other program. This is how last years program looked:

As far as I know there weren't any changes, so either you were lucky or you were drinking low-alcohol beers, cause these are allowed (up to 3,5% I guess). I remember I was stopped several times too last year.

That is true only special low alcohol level Heineken  was sold in the concerts area and it was undrinkable. In the eating areas normal Heineken was sold but you couldn't take it outside of the fenced area.
