  1. Apologies if this question has been asked before on here, but what is the view on when the next drop of Oxfam places will be?

I already have a place but won’t take it up unless my wife secures a stewarding role as well or we are both successful on the resale.

I know there is an 8 week window (before start of the festival) for getting a refund on my own position so don’t want risk passing that date.

  2. We are also missing our car park sticker so I contacted customer services ( a few days ago )who said it would arrive separately. It hasn’t yet arrived so not sure what we would have to do if we had to travel without it. Any advice appreciated.

  3. Which entrance will the shuttle bus drop off those staying in the Bath and West Showground campervan field and for that entrance when would be a good time to enter on the Wednesday to avoid the biggest of the queues?

  4. Attending as campervaners for the first time, so after years of lugging the tent and a lorry load of beers into the site in the early hours of Wednesday morning we are really excited to be able to relax on the Tuesday night with the knowledge of a good nights sleep before the festival.

We are setting off to Cornwall today for 9 nights before we head back up the road onto Glastonbury so packing is even more critical. The awning is, therefore, essential for us to give us that extra storage space. I’m assuming we just need to notify the stewards on arrival that we need the extra ‘awning’ space as we park?

We are in the Bath and West Showground campervan field, so any tips for arriving onto that site also gratefully received.

  5. Going in Emperor's Field for the first time this year, but I note there are three camping areas (Early Risers, Family Fun and Late Night Owls).  We are definitely not early risers and whilst we have 15 year girls in our party I am wondering whether Family Fun is aimed the younger families attending.  We can't make the mind up between that and Late Night Owls, but worry that the latter will be a little too rowdy :-),

Any advice from others that have stayed in Emperor's appreciated.

  6. Apart from last year, we have always come through the East gates to head for Cockmill Meadow family camping. I know it is often the luck of the draw which car park (Blue or Purple) you are directed to, but does anyone have a view on whether Gate C is a quicker access option than Gate B?   We will be arriving late Tuesday evening/early hours of Wednesday morning.

My experience of Gate B is that the queues are prone are more to people pushing in and, therefore, slower moving, but once in from this entrance, it is short walk to Cockmill Meadow.  Gate C, on the otherhand has the infamous 'Hill of Death' to contend with, but at least this is only for any return trip and at the end of the festival.

Also, still undecided on whether to take in a full loaded trolley in on the first entry and possibly get diverted to a different slower moving inspection queue, or take in the minimum on first entry to get the tent up and return for trolley at a quieter time in the day.

    A regular at Glastonbury, but another first timer at Kendall Calling with questions as follows (apologies if there are answers in other threads):;

    1. Arriving with my wife and two teenagers, I am looking for a family camping area, is there just the one field to head for and is it easily found, i.e. well sign-posted?

    2. Roughly how far is Family Camping from the car parks?  We have a trolley, but wondering if it is better to do two trips of lighter loads.

    3. Should we resign ourselves to not being able to get any alcohol into the main arena area?

    4. Can soft drinks be taken into the main arena?

    5. Should we expect long queues into car parking on Thursday?  and leaving out of the car parks on Monday?

    5. Apart from the Charlatans set on Thursday, will there be lots of other things going off on Thursday?

    6. For my future reference, how hard is it to get Emperor's Field tickets when they go on sale?

    Thanks

  8. I looking to get to park on the East Side and would like to get onto the Purple Route which seems the best way into the Cockmill Meadow Family Field. Any advice on directions to get that way travelling from the North (coming down M5)?

    A postcode for SatNav anybody?

  9. I will be arriving Wednesday morning and hopefully joining the queue to get in around 6am. Hopefully this will mean I get a pitch in Cockmill Meadow again. This year my wife and child will not make it down until Thursday but hope this will not prevent me pitching in the Family Field despite me being on my own on arrival.

Also, I intend to head for the Blue Car Parks on the East side of the site again, is this really the best route into Cockmill Meadow? The Hill of Death into Gate C pulling trolley and laden with tent and rucksack on my back is going to be a challenge by myself.
