  2. Second year in a row that I’ve returned from the farm with the ‘vid. It completely wiped me out and I’ve been bed bound for the most part of two days. It’s an occupational hazard that we’re going to have to get used to. Another reason to continue with my boosters when offered.

  3. This is such a great thread, some real bitter-sweet moments!  I don't have any real regrets save the one which many have said they harbour, in that the wish they'd found the festival sooner.  My first Glastonbury was 1999 and then the next was 2007....! I'd discovered clubbing in 2000 after a summer working on Ibiza, so when I got back the festivals for me were Homelands, Creamfields etc.  I've been every Glastonbury since 2007, so I've more than made up for it.

Is this for real? Not going to work.

Depends how determined some people are to spoil what’s being created for the festival goers, of course. All the festival can do is ask but you’d think the majority of people working at Glastonbury are going to share the same ethos and go along with what’s being asked of them.

  5. A couple stand out for me - Shakin Stevens is definitely one. I've never stopped feeling sorry for the guy who brought along his home made green door (which had a painted pic of Shaky on one side with "Shaky rocks Glasto 08" gaubed on) and then the c**t doesn't play it. If memory serves, there were boos at the end.  And then there was Yoko Ono at The Park who screeched and caterwauled over the band's efforts and left with a creepy and mildly threatening "I love you..." as she left the stage. The most unlistenable live performance I've witnessed anywhere and completely melody-free

Oh, and as a footnote, Smashing Pumpkins were really hard work. Zero interaction from Billy Corgan and the set was just tedious.

  6. The biggest music festival in the world gets the arguably the world's biggest band currently  in Coldplay headlining and the world's biggest singer (no pun intended) in Adele. I'd say these were major coups, the only one I'm disappointed in from the Pyramid headliners is Muse (would have preferred someone else). But it takes a lot to get me to the Pyramid for a headliner these days and I'd probably be there for Adele of it wasn't for New Order... if/when they get announced there's a horrible clash for me but it's great to be going to a festival where there's such variety all over the place :)

  7. As long as it's not Blur. Don't get me wrong, I love Blur and have seen them countless times; but the last being 2009 when I was front, centre, on the barrier at the Pyramid when they closed.

To be fair, though, it has to be a very special act to get me to the Pyramid for a headliner. It's not my favourite stage.
