Hopefully the Happy Mondays will have the dance act covered. Still got my fingers and toes crossed for The Flaming Lips!

Not overly impressed with the line up so far...Frank Turner headliner material, really??
-
Hope the Inspirals are amongst those which are announced. Slept through their set in 2012 (Whilst in my Tent, not during the gig!) and kicked myself that I missed them. They'd go hand in hand with the psychedelic/space theme which is taking place on the Saturday...here's hoping!

^^
Would be a dream that. Bought my ticket for their Manchester gig last year but they cancelled

Would also like to see Django Django there this year. Just got around listening to their mercury prize nominated album, top draw stuff.

Saw this lot at City square last week before the game against Blackburn at City's Stadium. Many new and upcoming bands have played their before, including the likes of The 1975 (think they're pish tbh) but these were the best of the lot for me. Haven't released an album yet but found out from KC they've played there before...hopefully will get to catch them there again!

Loosely on the topic of the Manics, heard Nina Persson a few days ago on the Radcliffe & Maconie show...she said her and The Cardigans are hoping to do a UK summer tour this year. Think they'd be a great fit at KC personally.

Just adding my two cents here but I'm a resounding NO. Saw him last year at the WHP in Manchester...wanted to leave after an hour. Paid just over £60 for two tickets and he didn't even have the decency to play any of his own material! Not sure if this was just an isolated case but he only managed to muster playing 'Brimful of Asha'. The rest were all shite remix's of chart-music, even Adele was played at one stage!
Personally I'd be glad if he turned his nose up playing at KC.

1. The Flaming Lips (Please let this happen)
2. Scroobius Pip v Dan le Sac
3. Wild Beasts
4. Daughter
5. OMD (Pure guess but would like some 80's in there)
6. Public Service Broadcasting
7. The Wailers
8. Chic (Fri dance act)
9. Elbow (Sat headliners)
10. The Maccabees
If it was anything close to that I'd be a very happy chappy. Also t'Hotpots have my avid support to play Kendal 14' since they've smashed it every year they've played!
Bands I'd love but cant see it: Modest Mouse, Eels, The National & Pixies
Bands to avoid at all costs: Beady Eye, Example, Ed Sheeran.

I'll ignore MickL's comments! Clearly suffering from sunstroke! Thought Maximo were piss poor.

Would love to see The Farm and perhaps even the Wailers after watching them last year at Heaton Park, both very good live. Wild Beasts would also be a welcome addition considering they're from Kendal and played there in 2010. More realistically though could definitely see The Palma Violets, The La's and perhaps the 50's rock & roll outfit The Jim Jones Revue play. Hopefully KC have got something special up there sleeve Seasick Steve could be persuaded to play he'd fit the bill perfectly.
-
Just me then? I'm a devout "Hotpotter", seen them 11 times live and each gig has a great buzz to it. Think the people on this board have made their opinions evidently clear, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them appear this year and for the foreseeable future. They drew in one of the biggest crowds last year (And orchestrated the most impressive conga!) so if the demands there which it is, I can't see them going away any time soon.

interesting stuff, cheers OP

I got to see a brief stint of 'The 1975' at Man City's stadium last month when we played Leeds beforehand. Have to say they didn't impress me that much but from what I've heard so far Theme Park and Wave Machines are very decent.

hello bud, welcome to the forum, were you the random bloke walking down the field or the random bloke working behind the kiosk that i discussed the start of season 5 with ! The word of BB must be spread !

Hey newbie to the forum here, but I suppose you could say I'm almost qualified as a Kendal veteran going three years on the trot and planning to go yet again this year with a group of mates. Know it sounds cliched, but it really does have a unique and special vibe to it which I've struggled to find as much in abundance as I have with KC - the organizers have got it spot on for me (Toilets need a major revamp though!). Not going to go into detail about previous fests, got plenty of time to discuss that in further detail just going to submit a few of my "wishlist" bearing in mind what Kendal might go for based on previous years whilst keeping it as realistic as possible:
Friday: Example, Hotchip, Metronomy, Pulled Apart By Horses, Whiskycats...etc (Personally think Example is a load of shite, but he's about the right size of act to attract punters.)
Saturday: Stereophonics, The Charlatans, Wild Beasts, The Wailers, Little Barrie, Jim Jones Revue
Sunday: Elbow, The La's Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip, Hotpots, Dreadzone, Jake Bugg, Heaven 17 (Gotta get some dodgy 80 band's in there)
...purely speculation obviously. I'd love it if Kendal went all out to get Flaming Lip's as they've over the past year are gradually becoming one of my favourite bands. Watched them at Parklife this year and they were a bit hit and miss, mainly playing new material from their new album which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I felt they lost the crowd on too often occasion (Might just add conditions were pretty dire which would've contributed). Would it be too much of a risky move for the organisers? I know they're fans as they posted they were looking forward to watching them at Jodrell Bank a while back. Anyway...I'll stop babbling now. Roll on KC'13!
Also just on a random note I think I may of complemented Ramragon on the Thursday on his 'Heinsenberg' t-shirt. Just glanced at your DP. Top man for spreading the good word of BB!

Severely disappointed with this years lineup, that's two years in a row I won't be present at KC. Breaks my heart but it seems Kendal are going down the V-fest route, a lot of bands you'd hear on Radio 1 whereas in recent years the acts have been more alternative than mainstream.
I thought some of the acts were going to reflect the Outer Space costume theme; so was anticapting main stage acts like Elbow, Flaming Lips, Spiritualized...etc.
Been one of Kendal's biggest advocates but sadly not for me this year. Might look at going to Jodrell Live again...
