    Yep.

I'm not sure how it might have gone for acts further down the bill, but Glasto are seemingly paying their headliners far more nowadays than can be accounted for by standard inflation.

Interesting, do you have a source?

I can tell you first hand this is 100% not the case over the last 5 years.

  2. Interesting....

My Glasto experience each year is as follows

Wake up try for a ticket

Get a ticket and get excited.

Forget about Glastonbury until end of March

Line up gets released get excited

    forget about Glastonbury until June

    Pack for Glastonbury

  3. Haha I live on the mean streets of south east London and have never been mugged, nor has my girlfriend or any of my friends. I can't think of anyone that's been mugged at all. Though I have been burgled once when I lived in sw London.

It pains me to say it, but it's one of the worlds great cities. It's got everything.

  4. I had a really good time. There was only 3-4 acts I wanted to see all weekend. I didn't fancy the Artic Monkeys so I went to Shangra La early got into heaven and had a blast for a couple of hours before DJ Yoda who impressed me.

Hives, Stones, Foals and Steve Aoki were awesome and the only 4 acts I wanted to see. I took my group to see these and then followed them to The Heavy, Of Monsters and Men over the weekend which I really enjoyed. Apart from that saw some other acts I would never normally see.

I thought there was lack of artists I wanted to see and being more into music than the bimbling around type I thought I would not enjoy the days as much as I normally do. However, completely worked in my favour as in my usual stubborn ways I will sacrifice a lot of the festival to see acts I have seen before because I like them. Turns out seeing new bands with your mates that love the band/recommend them is just as good as missing someone you half wanted to see.

One thing that annoyed me was the amount of times girls go to the toilet!

  5. My work colleague who is around 47 from the Caribbean, grew up in Hackney and used to attend raves in the bad days of Kingsland road etc is always fascinated about when I go to festivals and what they are like/what we get up to. He always tells me that he would have never gone to one because of the camping. Even if he was 21 again he couldn't have brought himself to camp for 5 days.

  6. I can take or leave them. Their set was average, when they were good they were good but when they didn't play their 'bouncy' tunes they were very very dull.

I personally do not think they have enough good songs to headline.

  7. Whilst waiting for Mumford and Sons this couple came up to us and said "excuse me, is this the pyramid stage"

The best walk home we had on Saturday night we had this couple having a domestic behind us, we had to slow our pace to take it the conversation.

Girl: Whats your problem with me

Boy: You were flirting with everybody and then suddenly turned on me

    Girl: That's because your a f******* C***

She then began to throw words like exasperated at him while at the same time losing her voice until she was just opening her mouth and thinking she was shouting at him. The poor lad didnt know what to do.

  8. I've just bought a 3G data plan so I can watch the second test on my iPad. Call me a loser if you like but I'm well chuffed! My iPad will be firmly hidden in a lockup till Saturday morning, it certainly won't be with me the whole festival. Now I just need to be sure the signal will be strong enough...

  9. It's come from another source that there is a ram takeover on Arcadia Friday night, if this is true then andy c will be there and it makes more sense personally as andy c is not really current to radio1 dance music, they are leaning alt more towards house at present

  10. Nope. I have no problem whatsoever with sport "in the real world".

But I go to glastonbury to get away from all that. To get away from all the silliness of the real world (and sport is incredibly daft if you think about it).

    That's my view.

Thankfully, the festival organisers seem to be on my wavelength.

  11. Mine gets taken off after the festival and binned as well.

As for a constant reminder, I don't see it myself. It is hardly like you wake up and think did I go to a festival this year? Oh shit, yes I did! Good job I still have my well worn and stinking wristband on to remind me.
