Mumford & Sons
Last Shadow Puppets/Miles Kane
The Libertines
Red Hot Chillis (not gunna happen, I know)
Frank Turner
Blur
Noel Gallagher
Jay Z
Now I've got an interesting one for you all, could Rod Stewart headline?
-
Just wondering how often other people sacrifice seeing an act that they prefer in order to see someone that they may not get chance to see again.
Only time I can think I've done this was last year when I watched The Streets rather than Elbow because it was one of their last shows.

Probably take 3 crates, usually fosters as it tends to be on offer.
Then a bottle of either vodka/irn bru or rum/coke.
-
Ticketline still telling me that mine are still not available for dispatch.
:'(
-
Foos - Obviously
Kasabian - One of my favourite live bands at the minute, they never disappoint
The Courteeners - Actually had tickets to see them twice and never made it to the gig so I need to see them at Leeds
The Black Keys - Been looking forward to seeing these since the announcement was made
The Hives - Who could not be excited by watching them in a tent?
-
Could Alabama Shakes headline NME?
-
Can't be bothered to do the entire line up but I'll give a headliners and subs on the two main stages a go.
Oh, and it would obviously be Leeds.
Main Stage:
Jay-Z
Bloc Party
Arctic Monkeys
Noel Gallagher's HFB
Biffy Clyro
The Libertines
NME:
Frank Turner
Miles Kane
Jack White
Babyshambles
The Vaccines
Crystal Castles
Probably not to everyones tastes but if I was Melvin, that would be my target for the top 12 acts.

Does everyone have to still be together/alive?
-
How does everyone make up their mind as to whether or not/which festival they are going to?
Is it a case of seeing whichever has the best lineup or liking one particular festival and going every year no matter who is there?
I know for me it is Leeds every year, just because i love the weekend and even if i don't like the lineup that much, there is always enough to fill the days, and Glastonbury every couple of years depending on if the line up does it for meso just wondered if anyone actually goes purely for the music?
-
It doesn't make any festival look daft IMO because it's not a festival, it's a gimmick.
Even if I did think it made R&L look bad, I'd rather go to V than Big Weekend...V!!

The amount of comedy genius that goes undiscovered on these boards is truly amazing.

The worst piss soaking I've ever had was at Arctic Monkeys last summer, turned a white t shirt yellow.
Have never experienced it at leeds though.

You have to admire the fact that he thought a pan would secure his head. We built an empire on that kind of ingenuity!
-
Some older popular bands.
It's a little bit too modern atm even for me at 18.
Also if some sort of throat condition overcame Enter Shikari and Bombay Bicycle Club in late August, it wouldn't be the worst thing.

You don't need parking tickets, or at least not with a weekend ticket, not 100% about days but as far as I know you just turn up and park for free.

Personally I like Orange, not too far to walk to the arena, and not too far to walk to brown camp in a morning for the downright luxurious portaloos they have there!
At the top of the hill so you're far enough away from Piccadilly and the funfair to be pissed off by them if you fancy sleeping at some point.
-
Mumford & Sons & Noel Gallagher could both sell out arena tours in half the time that Bloc Party could, it's interesting that neither of them are rumoured headliners but Bloc Party are.

Take a decent sized bottle to put water in so youre not slogging to the taps whenever you want water for stuff.
Take more beer than you'd think you need, it's surprising how easy it is to get through when you're there.
Try a bit of everything on the night, piccadilly party, oxfam tent, relentless stage (even though it's dire imo) and the silent disco. Also try and see an act on every stage.
-
Just on the subject of Libertines and some people saying they should be on NME, this would cause deaths.
I'd like to think Frank Turner would get a shot at headlining NME, loads of people are gutted he won't be there this year, god knows he's worked hard enough, recently racking up his 1200th gig.
-
That's less than 50% of the lineup
-
Definitely reading too much into this but Radio One have been playing a lot of Foos today, also heard a bit of Prodigy and Lostprophets.
Prodigy with an outside chance of subbing? And Lostprophets 4th down?
-
Mumford & Sons, Paul Weller, The Specials, The Courteeners, Los Campesinos!
-
One of Wilcosican's mates, he annoyed everyone at their campsite and they all had a falling-out.

Bit of a weird question, but as this is (hopefully, if I get a ticket!) going to be my first proper music festival (I went to Underage last year ), how many bands to people usually get to see over the course of the weekend? I was surprised by how many me & my mates actually managed to get to at Underage. Obviously I'm looking for A LOT of my 'must see' bands being on the line, but I'm wondering how many of those I'll actually get to see ahaha.
leeds help ...

Orange is pretty lively despite being a fair walk from the arena.
Trouble is you've gotta walk up an absolute t**t of a hill to get to it which if it's wet can be pretty difficult!
Also dont confuse orange with orange funfair, unless that is, you can't get enough of the star wars music and you also despise sleep! Other than that I like orange!
