  1. we're in north lancs near Wray not far from Cumbria border, had rain and thunder this morning, was supposed to last all day but stopped around 9:30 and not had anything else bar a few drops all day despite the forecasts saying the depths of hell were preparing to break loose. I don't mind too much if the forecasts are out but when it says at 11am that we have thunder and I'm sat in the garden in the sunshine that is just lies. I am not going to trust anyone ever again ever.

Seems that Yorkshire and Pennines got it worst.

  2. Some tents go up fly sheet first which is an advantage when you can keep the inside bits dry an just clip em on,if its an inside up first it can be worse in the rain ( the grim putting up of the tent at glatonbury 2011 in the lashing rain springs to mind !), on my hands and knees for half an hour with a plastic cup and 2 cloths trying to get the water out of the massive tent we took. Hopefully shouldnt be that bad tho !

Jesus Ram, way to lighten the mood mate!

  3. It rained pretty heavy this morning and looks like we are getting more this afternoon - I am on site from about 3pm today so signal dependant will report on the conditions....looks like its going to chuck it down right about the time I'll be putting my tent up!

Halfpint you must report back! If you don't we can just presume that the site is underwater and you have been swept away?

  4. Yup - we take a tarp as well, just to chuck over the pile of stuff when you put it down! - also doubles up as somethign to sit on, and an emergency tent fix kit (with gaffer tape!)

We had an idea... We have a Gazebo so thinking of whacking that up first for shelter then assembling tents under that?

Also got 2 rolls of gaffer tape just in case

  5. Well caravans up in Scotland at her folks place, just on our way to jedburgh now for a few days, over to Dumfries to get the caravan then down to KC, happy days, the holiday starts here. Cider, beer an wine packed and ready ! Here's hoping it manages to make it to the festival intact !

  6. The only showers they have are in the emperors field but you need to be camped in that field to use them, im sure there was the same issue last year with the shuttle bus, I think a few people ended up getting a taxi in, not too bad if split between 3 or 4 of you. Im sure a few of the locals could put a decent taxi number up in case thats your only option. If I hear anything about shuttle bus ill post it here

  7. Would I be right in thinking this....

From what I can see, the Calling Out Stage is now where the Dance Tent was last year. Also the Chai Wallahs has moved to where the Calling Out was. Glow Tent is where Chai Wallahs was!

  8. Bingley have just announced some additions to their lineup.

Fair enough, there are some dross on there (X Factor/BGT rejects), but for £45 the lineup looks extreme value for money.

    Highlights are:

    Friday

    The Human League

    Neville Staple Band

    Nina Nesbitt

    Frankie & The Heartstrings

    Saturday

    Primal Scream

    The Fratellis

    Tynchy Strider

    Wilko Johnson

    Sunday

    Chic

    The Cribs

    Katy B

    The Wonder Stuff

    Theme Park

    Looks good for you Jacko!
