  1. More than happy. Haven't seen any of them live yet somehow. Slipknot I've been a fan of for ages and really wanted to see them for a long time but it didn't work out. Both Maiden and Rammstein I've listened to bits over the years, but started listening to a lot more recently, and really can't wait to see them live.

I think the big thing for me is that all 3 tend to put on big shows with pyro and what not so I'm really looking forward to that.

  2. Top 3:

Metallica - I never thought otherwise being a lifelong fan, but the set was incredible and the lighting/pyro rig for One was amazing. We managed to get right down near the front and the atmosphere was amazing, especially after chatting to everyone around us during the hour break after Biffy.

Slash and Myles - been listening to Guns and Roses since Appetite, like a bit of Velvet Revolver, love Slash's Snakepit and Alter Bridge, so it was kind of a perfect booking for me. And the set list was incredible - again we got right down near the front and just enjoyed it.

Sabbath - I don't listen to Sabbath ordinarily, and had no idea if Ozzy could perform well but I had to see them, because, well it's Sabbath! And boy did they do the business - our whole group got really into it and everyone was amazed by how well they can still perform.

    Biggest surprises of the weekend:

Terrorvision - been listening to them since How To Make Friend And Influence people and couldn't believe how good they were live. Sure, he's not the best singer, but he's a hell of a front man!

Nightwish - never bothered listening to them before, but their set just blew me away.

Kyuss - despite how long they've been around, I'd never really given them a go. Since I do like a bit of sleazy stoner rock every now and then, I thought they were perfect on Sunday in the sun with a few beers! Since I got back home, I can't stop listening to them!

    Turkey of the weekend:

Fear Factory - the sound was awful, and the guy just cannot sing live. Sure he can growl well enough, but on the cleans it was just terrible which was a real shame as I was looking forward to them.

Actually, with the exception of Fear Factory, I didn't see a bad band all weekend, and it was nice to see Breed 77 on the acoustic stage having seen them twice live before doing their normal stuff - I dragged a few of our crowd to watch them and they absolutely loved it.

  3. It was my first festival (and one of my mates that came too) and we had a ball. Single handedly the best experience in my 33 years on this planet so far. Yes the weather was crap, the mud was annoying, the delay opening the arena on Friday a little frustrating (especially as I was looking forward to Rise to Remain and Cancer Bats) but other than that it was amazing.

And as far as Sundays go, I wish every Sunday was a good as that one. Great weather, great bands, great people, and we had an awesome spot for main stage all day.

Suffice to say, I'll be going again next year!
