I'm not there but buddy there told me yesterday...apparently the stone carving is still there but no secret pub....there is a gravestone with RIP The Mason's Arms on it ?

He also had a memorial book for it - had a chat with him when my son was doing a bit of stone carving - he was most pissed off to be banned from having it this year. Managed to rustle me too a very appreciated gin and tonic though ?

11th Glastonbury for me. I think my favourite since 2010.

Found a really good balance this year between accepting I am getting older and the festival is changing, and picking and choosing what I want to go to /enjoy. Rather than trying to recreate versions of the festival I had when was younger. The heat helped hold off drinking during the day, meaning I think I appreciated some of the music a lot more.

    This absolutely ^

15th festival for me, enjoyed it more than I have for years. The kids being older helped massively as the was much less time in the kids fields this year, and getting in plenty of walking practice beforehand also helped me cope with all the trekking about. #middleagedglastonbury

  3. Definitely one of my highlights, we were quite far back with the kids (at the Pyramid) and the crowd around us were loving it, great atmosphere and fab set

  4. East sounds awful, we left about 8.30 (from E20 CV field) and had a short queue but nothing too bad and there are plenty of stewards around at that time.

We've always tried to get up and our early after spending about 8 hours in a queue in one of the East car parks in 2000.

    Hope you're all moving soon!

  5. Hubby and I remarked it seems busier to us, main stages v busy for early acts, was packed for Bastille on the pyramid and we noticed the tents have been pushed back from the track at the top to allow extra viewing space.

Fairly chilled at West holts just now though.

  6. Has anybody heard anything about Jarv Is (Jarvis Cocker's new outfit) playing? I can't believe they won't, because a) he loves Glasto, b) they're currently touring and c) they have a cracking new song out. I'll be gutted if they do and I miss them!

This is me down to a tee really. Over the many years have had unbelievable queues on road and across site to get in only to find its impossible to camp anywhere I'd like to. But hey - small price and problems in the grand scheme of things. Miss the days we could just saunter in.

    Me too!

  8. I have found my people. My anxiety seems to get worse every time which I think is age related but made especially worse this time because I was ill in 2017 so didn't have the best experience, and got loads of other stuff going on at home right now. In my 20s I was completely unbothered!

Deep breaths everyone, it's all going to be fine

  9. Feeling very lucky to have secured our tickets at about 9:15am after it said all tickets had been allocated, and a camper van ticket too. Massive commiserations to everyone who missed out - we've been there more than once, its horrible.

  10. Blimey we're still at least 3 hours away !

What's the best route to East CV from the North? Had a nightmare queuing experience last year but hoping the fact that it's dry and we've set off a bit earlier will make it a lot better this time.

  11. We managed to secure our campervan ticket, which is a huge relief!

So sorry to all who were unsuccessful with tickets, been there before and I feel your pain. Always feels like such a lottery :(

  12. My memories of 07 are that it rained almost continually the whole festival which meant ground conditions got continually  worse and some of the market areas were impassable.  Plus it made watching bands horrible.  Yes it's muddy underfoot this year but the actual weather isn't so bad. Could sit down at the back of the Pyramid yesterday (on a survival blanket). Wouldn't have wanted to do that in 2007. Had to take a big detour back from Arcadia  last night though as mud on one of the metal walkways had gone super sticky and people were getting stuck.
