NYC Dowlow
in Chat
Made it into NYC Downlow for the first time this year on the last night... got dragged out of the queue by someone I'm 80% sure was a woman... given a massive kiss, a slap on the bum and sent in for free... great way to round off the weekend
The music/shows were a really nice break from all the heavy dance in the SE corner too!

Bloody hell! I know she's skinny, but that must've taken quite a push!
Haha, it's all diamonds by that point of the weekend
-
....oh, and I'm 80% sure I saw Macaulay Culkin walking up to the Stone Circle on the Thursday. If it wasn't him then it was a bloody good lookalike! Made for decent running joke through the weekend either way.

I passed Cara Delevigne in the longdrops at about 4am on the last night between Shangri-La and Unfairground. We were both on our own and I was wearing some crazy face-paint... just stared at each other from about 20m away until we passed. Surreal.

I'm going to try tackling some of the coverage this eve, I predict an emotional one... Didn't catch Caribou, and many others, so it'll be good to see what else was going on!
-
And a special mention to...
Charlie XCX - I felt dirty even going to watch this, and a whole lot dirtier when I left! But catchy songs and a she certainly puts on a show!
This! Nudged my mate and said 'not sure that Sunday at the festival is the right time for this'.
Plus in no particular order...
Deadmau5 - I was in just the right headspace for this to be perfect
Enter Shikari (JP) - Only positive of Foo Fighters cancelling
Slaves (JP) - Just a fun set
Tie between Patti Smith & Burt Bacharach - Great music for the sunshine and singalongs (plus the the Dalai Lama)
...and leaving The Who early to get to the paint fight in the Temple and have a proper night in the Naughty Corner... including getting dragged out of the queue at NYC Downlow by someone I'm 80% sure was a woman... given a massive kiss, a slap on the bum and sent in for free!

Thanks ;-)
No worries pal, I've been lurking around these forums for longer than I'd care to admit so I figured it was about time I posted something useful!

Every year the BBC do a great montage to sign off their coverage... and just like every other year it left me a little misty eyed! This year it's to Dancing on the Ceiling by our Lionel. I uploaded it to YouTube, so enjoy!

PS: Here are links to previous years. If anyone has any more then I'll add them. Maybe Neil can make this topic a sticky for reference when we need a little boost in the winter months?

Saw the 2 hr highlights this weekend on fast forward! Really it was crap! I might as well been at V festival! It certainly wasn't the festival I was at. Although I'd admit I was mostly around the West Holts, Park and Avalon this year.
^^^This. The amount of times I've tried persuading people to go and had to use the phrase 'don't just go off the BBC highlights, it's not what it's like at all!' is unreal.
-
I couldn't find it either... had to BT it in the end, Sunday highlights were 20gb! I'll cut the montage out and stick it on YouTube
-
Thanks guys, those videos always help me get through the winter months! I'll have a dig around iPlayer for it.

Every year the BBC coverage is rounded off with a highlight montage played out to one of the songs of the festival. I watched back the two hour highlight package on Friday (albeit through misty eyes) and was disappointed to see that they just ended the program straight after Kasabian. Here are examples of what I mean from 2010 and 2013...

...did one of these appear anywhere on the coverage for this year? And if so where can I find it??

Thank f**k your going to leeds

he does have a point though its all the people like this sneaking into the campsite that make it so over crowded in the first place

Ahh, a Ford enthusiast with ironically cheap, reliable, inoffensive but boring input. Many thanks FiestaDave

Those sneaky bastards... thanks for the info. Thats sunk that plan then. Looks like im relying on trackin down aquaintances I know who are willing to pitch 3 tents me me and the chaps.

Hello all. Having been ready to give Leeds a miss for the first time since 2002 I've had a late change of heart and am currently scouring ebay to get cheap weekend tickets... silly... silly touts :-)
Anyway, my question is. Do they still have the wristband exchange setup? whereby you would show your ticket at the door and go to a tent to get your wristband later on.. or do they give you wristbands on the main gate now? I can't remember what last years setup was. I'm askin because I can't get there til Friday this year, but don't want to give up my traditional premium yellow/blue valley spot and have to camp out in the stix in brown. So i've concocted an elaborate ruse involving early entry tickets and borrowed weekend tickets which is dependant on this information... many thanks if anyone can help....
