  1. Not sure where you are getting your info from:

    Here are the real facts:

Our license remains at 10,000 public on site

    We have 24hr bar license

Our music license runs until 3am, with some stages closing earlier, but nothing earlier than 11pm

So 2012 will be just as special as 2011 with some great music and a few more bands to be announced soon.

  2. Dear All,

We are so chuffed to have such a legend as Richard Hawley headline No Direction Home Festival!

Not only did he play the very first year of End of the Road, but he's also been a friend and a supporter of our festival ever since, which means a lot to us and which makes it even more special to have him headline our new festival.

We are also excited to announce MORE artists and comedians today:

    Austra

    Cold Specks

    Other Lives

    Wet Nuns

The Behemoth (John-Luke Roberts and Nadia Kamil)

Isy Suttie (Dobby from Peep Show)

    James Acaster

    Joanna Neary

    John Robins

    Josie Long

    Robin Ince

    Sarah Bennetto

    Storytellers' Club

    Simon Munnery

    Thom Tuck

    Tom Bell

    Tony Law

Already announced are The Low Anthem, who will be topping the Friday bill, co-headlined with Dirty Three, and Andrew Bird taking the lead slot on the Saturday, plus many more artists that you can check out on our website:

    http://www.nodirectionhomefestival.com

Today we're also putting out a call for beautiful and/or intriguing art installations to be scattered throughout the historic site for the duration of the festival. Artists have until 20th February to submit their ideas here:

We look forward to hopefully seeing you in June.

    Warm winter wishes,

The End of the Road and No Direction Home Festival team

  3. EOTR and Scientology

There have been suggestions on forums that End of the Road Festival may have some connection to the Church of Scientology. This arose after the efestivals founder was sent an anonymous letter. It’s quite likely that the same person sent similar letters to the music and general press.

Two of the directors are scientologists. The remaining directors and management are not.

End of the Road has no connection with the Church of Scientology, financial or otherwise. None.

In any case, philosophical inclinations are personal and have nothing to do with a music festival. Anyone who has been to an End of the Road Festival will already know that.

For the record, EOTR did make big losses in the first two years. They were all financed by the owners and those friends who could be persuaded to lend us money. The festival is now in good financial shape, the loans are repaid and the profit made in 2011 is being invested in a new festival.

The anonymous correspondent ought to get out more.

  4. Simon has asked for the following post on the forum to provide some clarity to the questions raised on these forums.....

    -----------

Following on from my Festival blog post on virtual festivals the other day I would like to respond to the questions asked here about stages and capacity.

For the past 2 years our capacity has been 7,000, not 5,000 (our original quota).

We watched the effects of the increase carefully and felt it had no negative impact at all on the intimate atmosphere, facilities, food and beer queues etc.

In fact the effect was the opposite: the energy of the festival increased without there being any sense of overcrowding.

Tickets sell out every year and many go disappointed, so if we can increase availability without compromising on the atmosphere, we will.

A beneficial side effect is a bigger organisational budget which we hope comes through in what we think is our best lineup so far.

This year we're also trying out a new outdoor stage - The Woods Stage, and a new comedy set-up - Comedy in the Forest.

Facilities, camping etc will increase accordingly.

From our point of view, each year it feels like the spirit of End of the Road is animated, not compromised, by constantly forcing ourselves to come to the

    festival with fresh eyes.

Stages and areas are listed on this page http://www.endoftheroadfestival.com/stages-and-areas/ of our website.

Lineup times and a site plan will be added in the next few weeks.

The Local will take up a new residency in the Tipi on Friday.

    Regards Simon.
