  1. I am usually a Glastonbury person and take my own drinks. Can anyone tell me anything about the searching on entry to the arena? From the terms and conditions it seems really specific and therewfore strict. Is security in the gates tighter than say V or somewhere like that? I have been to V a couple of times and found getting drink past security there to be very easy.

tbh it's not so much that I mind buying drinks - more that I hate ending up drinking lager all day. I like to make myself up a strong nice rum and coke in a small coke bottle to last me the afternoon/evening and reduce the toilet stops!

  2. Here's my list for this week -

2 x battery powered small camping lanterns

    1 raincoat

    2 boxes muesli bars

1 box of 20 glowsticks (some for sticking on our flagpole at night so we can find our tent easier)

    AA batteries

    Plasters

    Fruit pots

    5 disposable barbecues

    2 pairs thick socks

    2 picnic blankets

    Glittery windcatcher for our flagpole

    Tinned ravioli

2 packs of 3 vacuum packing bags where you squish the air out.

All from Poundland, grand total was £21! (some stuff was 2 for £1)

For anyone who hasn't been in there, they also do groundsheets, tent pegs (normal & heavy duty), guy ropes, bungee cords, tin plates & mugs, collapsible cups, short tripod seats plus a few other camping bits & pieces. Well worth checking out.

Now all I need is more food & booze....

  3. Hi everyone,

It's my first time at Glasto this year & we're planning on camping in the Dairy Ground. Looking at some of the messages on this site, it looks like the worst of the traffic & longest waiting times to get in are on the west side of the site.

My boyfriend's had the idea that we could park in one of the east carparks then take our gear through (we've got trolleys for our heavier gear so hopefully it won't be too bad although a bit of a trek). My thought is that by the time we've done that, we may as well have queued on the west side & done a shorter walk.

So what does everyone think? Should we head east or west? We're driving down from Birmingham and are looking to get there on Wednesday about 7am.

Any advice would be really appreciated!

  4. I emailed the organisers about this a little while back, this is the response I got from them:

"Last year we ran the Rocket Restaurant which is besides the Diner where we took bookings etc. I am afraid that we are not doing it again this year. The diner does not take bookings, although we do have tables, good food and intermittent table service depending on how busy we are. (evenings up until 9pm probably )"

    Sorry everyone!
