Gandhi's flip flop - their three curry thali curry with rice and two pompadoms for £7.50 was epic had three through out the festival

Also the paella on Williams green if anybody can remember the name?

  2. Facebook and instagram, which are the same are out n out evil and need to be boycotted, if you must use social messaging pick a local one to you not an american spy system.

  3. Hi as FTHC said, I proposed in 2011 at flagtopia. Made a big banner, and myself and FTHC went up and got the rest of the group to bring my wife up up through the park so that she would see it through the flags about 45 minutes behind us.

My advice make it something special to you guys.

Don't over complicate it, unless your really after a flash mob as awesome as that must have been.

I choose the location as it was reasonable quiet and gave us a chance to spend some time together after. I imagine mid set at the main stage could be distracting and stressful.

Do it early on I did it on the Thursday having scoped out exactly where I wanted to propose and it ensured we had time to celebrate before band music etc a celebration within a celebration if you like.

    Best of luck

  4. Everyones who wasnt there has seen the pictures: submerged tents, the guy swimming looking for his car keys, the dude in a canoe. Everyone who was there will never forget it. The downpour. The flood. The Closest Glasto every came to being cancelled due to power failure and flooding of the Pyramid backstage area.

2005 was my second Glasto, and after a fairly muddy 2004 we were hoping for better weather! It wasnt to be. When the heavens opened at 5am on the Friday I was lying in my tent and stayed there most of the morning until the worst of the rain had passed. It felt like an eternity sat in a 2 man tent with the rain battering against the canvas. Luckily for us we had pitched in Top Webbs Ash so our part of the campsite didnt flood, other campers were not so lucky.

When we emerged and walked around the site there was utter carnage. The gate near the firewood shop on the way to the John Peel tent was knee height in mud and I will never forget a guy trying to get across with a pushchair! Scores of tents were submerged around the John Peel area, Oxylers was a quagmire but of course the worst affected area was Pennard Hill which was a scene of total devastation.

Anyway, the point of this post! Who was in the worst affected areas? What happened to you and your stuff? Did you manage to retrieve anything? Did you have to go home? If not where did you end up? Did the organisers find shelter for you? Did you have to rawhide it in the same clothes for the whole weekend but still had the most amazing time ever?

    Interested to hear any tales?

  5. Hi,

I'm allergic to dairy and wheat (fun times).

Luckily not cider or steaks though, I'll be bringing plenty of snacks and will spend Wednesday looking for some food stalls that can cater for that.

But does anybody know of some from their last visits to glasto?
