Are you sure your'e not confusing the TV coverage times with the actual times?
Same thing as they're showing it live - whatever BBC1 shows is what we'll be watching on the screens. 7.30 is 'Closing Ceremony Countdown', then the actual ceremony starts at 9pm, with an 11.30pm finish. Of course it may not last the full 2.5 hours, they may've added a bit to the coverage at the end but their timings for the Opening Ceremony were spot on, apart from the fact that it over-ran by 20 minutes...

Forgot to add, can't imagine 60000 Blur fans will want to stand there watching the whole OS concert with some of the acts lined up.
-
According to the Radio Times the Closing Ceremony starts at 9, finishing at 11.30. I'm hoping we get to watch the flame handed over then Blur play while the concert goes on at the OS, finishing at the same time as the fireworks kick off at the OS.

Sadly I'm no longer going, really gutted but just wanted to wish everyone on here a brilliant festival, hope the sun shines for you!

Bestival Ticket: anybody got a spare?
I have decided rather last minute to go to Bestival, obviously sold out now, anybody got a ticket they no longer need?
Thanks in advance

Rob da Bank A few more acts left to announce @Bestival next week...

Does anyone have any details about possible set times of the acts/a clashfinder? I know that someone on the Sunday Best Forums gave details about which day each act is likely to be, but was wondering whether anyone had any information more accurate than that? SO EXCITED

Weird logic. I'm not a huge fan of Kasabian but they are one of the biggest bands in the country and I predict will be headlining big festivals and/or their own stadium gigs next year. The gigs you mention were all warm ups, most bands play tiny venues for those. Arctic Monkeys are also huge, headlining V this year and easily capable of selling out somewhere like Hyde Park or Milton Keynes Bowl. Personally I love their new album.

The sound was pretty terrible at Clapham Common too, I go to quite a lot of outdoor gigs and this year sound's been notably worse everywhere than in other years. Maybe it's all cost cutting.

What a weird festival. More like a village fete with relatively big acts playing. I enjoyed it but not sure I'll go again. I knew it finished at 8, but it was still really strange when it happened, that's when others usually get going! Had five free ice creams so it was good value all in all.

I have to say the mud caught me out a bit too - I was there 2 years ago and there was a storm on the Thursday night and more heavy rain on the Sunday but no problems with mud at all to speak off. This year I arrived on Saturday morning, when it'd been raining for maybe a couple of hours, and my car twice got stuck in the mud on the way into the car park and the whole weekend was hard work due to trudging through it all the time. Then my car got stuck again on the way out of the car park. I think maybe it caught the organisers by surprise as they didn't seem well equipped to deal with the problem.
In all other respects though the festival was great and well organised, and yes, the toilets were a relatively pleasant surprise!

Just come back from Latitude and had a nightmare with my mobile signal, making meeting up with me friends impossible other than through guesswork or luck. I'm on 3. Anyone know what the signals are like for different operators at Bestival? Ideally obviously 3 would be great but if necessary I can get a PAYG on a different network. Can't have another weekend like that so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm afraid that's an insult to LCD Soundsystem. They are nowhere near as innovative and don't sound the same at all IMHO.
-
Ok, it's Friendly Fires. Big shrug from me but they do seem to be fairly popular so might make some happy.

And another one:
its a contemporary artist for @bestival .. not an old timer

Tweet from Rob today:
one big artist announce for @bestival tomorrow

ended up finding someone to go with me. 2 weekend tickets for £155, absolute bargain!
Nice one! Are they guest or general? Will be brilliant either way! I've managed to wangle one for free, for the price of taking two performers up in my car! Means I'll have to go up Saturday morning but can't really complain!

so tempted by a last minute ticket on ebay. some are going at Buy It Now for £60-£80! wondering if anyone could help me out with a query. the only other people i know that are going have guest tickets so will be camped in the guest area. there's 2 guest tickets on ebay at the moment, the person won them through a sunday times competition but can no longer go but the tickets say not for resale on them. if i were to win these, would i have to prove i was the original competition winner with some form of ID at the guest list box office or would i be fine with just the 2 tickets in hand? i'm worried that i'd get the whole way there with the tickets thinking its fine but then they'd have a list of the sunday times competition winners and i'd have to prove i was the actual winner. anyone ever been in a similar situation with winning a competition etc?
I'm sure you'd be fine, I bought a guest ticket off ebay two years ago and didn't have any issues at all. In fact I have the same problem as you this year, my friends are in guest camping, so am planning to do the same! I'll fight you for the ebay ones!

I am lucky enough to have been offered some 'VIP' tickets to Latitude through work. I'm told they do not include camping so wondered whether they therefore 'just' provide free entrance (I know, I know, that is still good!). I am a Glasto regular, including 'VIP' some years, but have no idea what to expect at Latitude. I am taking the wife and 3 young kids so would appreciate it if anybody could fill me in on any 'perks' I can expect?
I'd be very surprised if these didn't include camping, any VIP or guest tickets I've seen have included it. To be honest, if they don't then I'm not sure what benefits you'll get - I had a guest ticket two years ago and the main benefits were being able to camp in tne guest area, which is quieter, better toilets, better showers, a 'private' bar and closer to the arenas. I could also go wherever I wanted to around the campsites, so could join my friends in the main campsite if I wanted to. Other than that I can't remember there being any benefits! I'd double double check if I were you before booking alternative accommodation.

DJ Shadow is on an hour after her, so you can see both

I also had no queue issues on the Saturday. Was a crackin' day out, pity Aphex Twin and Battles sucked though
-
Anyone been yet that can say? How churned up is the site?
Anything else us Sunday revellers should avoid or make time to see?

Bjork is an amazing addition, it couldn't have been better. Saw her live last night and it's a very unique performance to say the least.
