  1. Hi guys,

Super long time lurker here posting my first post, couldn't remember this being mentioned before, but apologies if it has already been discussed.

I've been to the festival many times as a paying customer but this year will be my first going there to do my day job, ambulance dispatcher.

We've been told that we will be using a free app called 'what 3 words' to help find people if they call 999 from site. I don't recall this ever being actively encouraged or advertised anywhere, not sure why as the more people who know about it can only be a good thing. So in the unlikely event any of you guys need to call for help (and even more unlikely event you have enough battery on your phone) you can switch on your location, open up the app and give the three word sentence generated by the app to give your exact location to within 3 meters.

This is not just handy to know at the festival, but more and more emergency services across the country are starting to use it in every day life too.

Also, after having spent 3 hours searching for my car on the Monday morning of 2016, I would've paid good money for someone to tell me its exact location, so the app could come in handy for that ?

Bought this somewhere near Leftfield. Was a salad bar type place, paid £4.50 to fill your pot with whatever you liked from the bar. It was awesome. Don't be put off by look the seaweed wraps either, they were bloomin' lovely.

What a shame! They look delish but I'm allergic to seaweed .... Gutted just isn't the word!!

  3. I have to agree, There are more and more posts cropping up on this forum with a tone of disapproval at other peoples ways of enjoy themselves...

"Don't wash your hair, don't take pictures, don't sit on a chair in pyramid field, don't see anything on the main stages, don't do it sober, don't make any phone calls, don't change your clothes, don't shower, dont sleep, don't bring your own food, don't plan anything, don't bring flags, don't <enter your own gripe here>........."

.....then, in the next breath, the exact same people will preach about the "glastonbury vibe" and "the glastonbury way"...surely that should encompass a strong element of live and let live?

Why not change it to; Do whatever you like, its your festival, your time to enjoy yourself and your money you spent on getting the ticket. If people want to share their glastonbury with other people by posting to facebook, let them. If they want to capture every minute of their festival on their iphone, let them. If they want to sit on a chair in the pyramid field for 5 days, let them (you'll be somewhere else remember as its uncool to watch anything at the pyramid - see "don't" list.)

Why bog yourself down with what other people are doing? It may well be (very likely in fact, that you have likely done things to annoy/negatively impact on them too. Their annoying use of their mobile phone counteracts your BO from not showering, just for example.

If your argument is they are impairing your own ability to enjoy the festival, then YOU are doing something wrong. While they are enjoying sharing their photos and videos of their favourite band they waited all year to see, you will undoubtedly be on an uber cool pedestal somewhere with nothing but a muddy tan line and a new list of "dont's" as reminder of your time at glasto. ;)

This. Obviously for shade from the intense sunshine rather than the rain we are not going to have.

It says one size fits all, but am awaiting delivery to see if it fits my larger than average sized head.
