OK A NEW QUESTION.... WHAT IF I SIGNED UP TO ACTUALLY DO THE SHIFTS - BUT DID MANAGE TO GET A RESALE TICKET, WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF GETTING MY SHELTER DEPOSIT BACK AND THEM OFFERING MY PLACE TO SOMEONE ELSE?

i wouldnt be AGAINST doing the shifts!!
only if they were during Rolling Stones/ Arctic Monkeys.... any other time and actually completely the shifts would be a completely viable option!

losing my money wouldnt be bad as id be in the festival anyway!!

Im going to take the place and do all the shifts - reading other posts on other threads it does sound like a fully enjoyable experience that I would actually be fully committed to!!

Hey guys....Me and my friends are looking to take the train to glastonbury this year, and I was just wondering if anybody knew how far the 'Castle Cary' train station is from the actual site entrance (is it walkable?)
I know that the festival operates shuttle buses from the Castle Cary train station to the 'festival bus station' - so does anybody know how far that actually is from the festival entrace gates? Also does this shuttle bus service generally have really long queues on the wednesday morning/ how frequently do they run??
Thanks for your help...any input will be a great help for us! Or any opinons about the general journey from people that have done it before?

Although i didnt vote for them as my 'FAVOURITE'....I was there at the Panic At Disco headline slot and I actually really really enjoyed it!
Admittely the slot was way too high for them so I'm not sticking up for the choice of them headlining the other stage, however for those who where there, and for people that are fans of the band it was actually a pretty good show. Nice little singalong, chilled out....
Not saying it was amazing, far from it, but it was decent...and im proud to own up to being there

I for one am against this as I would have much more prefered the football match, as it gave the fans more of a chance to get involved!
For the last 2 years I have been part of the crazy set of fans that would bundle the goalie/the referee/ and even hold aloft the one we called JESUS in true Bobby Moore fashon!! We would come up with the most crazy chants, sneak into the end of match photograph....and last year even involved a 20 minute heckling of OTIS FROM NEWSROUND!! It was so brilliant, maybe the best moment of my life - now its gone

Rock died the moment Iron Maiden were allowed to headline the festival in my opinion!! Not a single good song to thier name, how on earth they are being rumoured every year is beyond me!!
Just look at the charts my friend - Rihanna/ Katy Perry/ Pink/ Lady Gaga/ Beyonce - these are the acts that sell big and draw in big crowds!! Until reading can attract acts like this the festival will always be somewhat of a laughing stock to the rest of the festival circuit! Stuck in the past!
And for the record - Im a vegatarian so I wont be eating the burgers at V you absolute buffoon!!

in my opinion the festival has got too heavy in recent years...we are due a big rap headliner - Jay-Z, P Diddy, i'd even take Dizzee Rascal!!
just please save us from the recent tripe you have been forcing upon us for the last few years! i remember 2008 watching metallica, and thinking - WHAT THE f**k IS THIS! even razorlight in 2007 was better than what we have had since then!
anyone else got some big rap names you would like to see top the festival?

Hey fellow reading goers... me and a few mates were thinking of taking a small amount of the marijuana substance into the festival...but our only concern is getting it past the damn fuzz on the 1st day!
What is the likelihood of us getting caught...are there any sniffer dogs? any thorough bag searchs?
and what is the best tips to get this wonderful stuff into the festival? maybe rolled up in a sock in my bag or simply just in my pocket?
