  1. The whole thing makes for uncontrollable laughter..from the genius flying carpet idea battyness to the guy jumping on the back followed by the emergency stop fall of death...it's jokes & someone jumping on the back should be made part of his act frankly!

....and surely that magic carpet should be fitted with airbags anyway!!!

  2. Fair play, it's not the red button stuff.  Guess it depends how hard core comprehensive ya wanna be with your recording.  Easy to set up though coz it's Series Link...press OK for the first broadcast on Beeb 2 & the same on 4 & that's it, every TV broadcast recorded over the festy period including any extra documentaries & the like.  About 40 hours worth...how much do ya need FFS!!!

  3. Might be stating the obvious here...but all this talk of streaming/downloading/torrents etc seems like bloody hard work!

I set the EPG timers before leaving for Glasto & recorded the entire HD BBC coverage on BBC2 & 4 with a Panasonic dual tuner Freesat BluRay 500gb hard drive recorder...clashes didn't matter coz it's dual tuner.  The whole lot is on the devices hard drive...easy.  I think it's 'protected' broadcasts or once only copy (to discs) as set by the BEEB.

Get prepared you lot for 2017!

  4. Not so much a search for friends but our group had a bizarre & funny year of suddenly stumbling upon each other without warning time & time again, in the dark, rain, mud & amongst tens of thousands of revellers in the massive festy site.  Honestly, you couldn't make it up.  We had made a 'law' that we would all go off & do our own things most days (worked out brilliantly)- we didn't need mobiles coz it seems the 'rendezvous gods' were on our side!

  5. Sorry...ignore this repeat post....sausage fingers on the keyboard & internet lag.

.......it's a given surely.  Headliners were booked months ago & if ever there was a band who needed notice to make sure they are all getting along in time for next June not to mention double booking themselves for another massive world tour, it's The Mac.  In addition they have all stated how keen they are to get on that Pyramid stage.  Their website shows no live events scheduled....stand by ya beds folks.

  7. :D  Did you meet a friendly festival face this year but forgot to take any contact details? Just maybe this thread may bring on a happy reunion!  :D

To kick off, does anyone know of a guy called Barry who had some sort of working connection with the Leftfield stage? We were pitched in camper field East 20 on Wednesday night watching Pink Floyd live & loud on DVD. He joined us in our traditional annual Glasto Floyd fix but then disappeared into the night after a thoroughly enjoyable two hours or so.  Too drunk & dark to describe what he looked like & didn't take any contact details stupidly.  Get in touch.

  8. I chose not to take wellies but some North Face hiking boots & they were a life saver.  They are a tad more substantial than your average run of the mill boot but boy, was I grateful.  Grip at all times, completely waterproof & supremely comfortable & no, I don't work for North Face!  See attached complete with festival mud.

  9. ......yes honestly.  Smaller Avalon tent, positioned right up the front, could see & hear everything & he really knew how to work the crowd, gave a full on performance complete with Coldplay style confetti canons & massive audience participation balloons.  One big party.

  10. This may be pissing in the wind but look at the Summer dates for Jarre's tour. There is still a large Glasto sized gap available.  Is it possible he & Glasto are not announcing it yet as a gesture of good will to BlueDot in the knowledge that it would affect their ticket sales.

The only question marks are that Jarre has now been removed from the Efest Rumours/Line-up list & to play Glasto would mean then going back to Europe for dates there before returning to the UK for BlueDot.

  11. JMJ playing Glastonbury 2016 could be on the cards for one slightly over looked point that 2016 is the 40th anniversary of iconic album Oxygene.  JMJ is also quoted as moving himself &/or his technology/musical interests to London in the near future.

In addition, booking him would be the most 'curved ball' & unpredictable/risk taking venture for some time & perhaps to Glastos credit & status.  Indeed there are many who have not heard of him or his music in recent times but to a large extent this is irrelevant if the organisers & JMJ's team pull off some sort of site wide lighting & firework extravaganza along the lines of his cityscape backdrop epics of the 1980's like Docklands & Houston.  The spectacle would appeal to all just like it did to the millions who attended those concerts back then.

The Hill Of Death over looking Glasto could well be the hot spot for the best seats in town if it happened.

    Interesting.
