  1. I am 37 this year and have been going to Leeds for several years. There are a lot of kids around but they are enjoying themselves in the way Kids will. They can be amusing to watch but eventually you will get bored of them.

I love Leeds and I think we have to make a pact never to stop going. I fully intend to be going to festivals until I physically can't and even then I might just get someone to carry me.

  2. I'm still sitting on the shelf in regards to Blink.

They were never perfect, but do have a few songs that you would recognise straight away and probally jump around to after a few beers.

90 minute set, I'm not sure if they can hold the crowd for that long, but hope they can.

  3. My advice with the beer would be to stock up now while it's cheap. I got 3 x 12 cans of Carling for £18 in Morrisons the other day but I'll probably need them to see me through the World Cup. Tescos are doing some good deals on Carlsberg as well from what I've heard so I might pay a trip there for my World Cup supplies and then use what I have in my cupboard for Leeds along with the whiskey and Jagermeister, and then pick up an extra crate of Guinness.

I'm actually not that big a drinker but it's always a good thing to help a brother out if he's in need of a beer.

  4. This is my first festival too.

    So far i'm looking at

    Tent

    Sleeping bags

    Trangia + fuel

    Earplugs

    Eyemask

    Day Sack

    Money belt

Food (bacon, sausage, beans for breakfast) hoping to replenish at onsite shop?

Old but still usable mobile phones

    Antibacterial wipes

    Toothpaste + Toothbrushes

    Toilet roll

    Handgel

    Shades

    Dry shampoo + Dry bodywash

    Towels

    Sunscreen wipes

Beer (hoping to buy on site)

Airbed (yes i like to be cosy)

    Torch

    Tea + coffee

    Plastic mugs, cuterly, plates.

    Lightweight seats

    Clothes

    Ponchos

    Boots.

I think that should just about cover it for us.

I heard or read somewhere the onsite shop does slabs of 24 beers for £25, plus should be able to pick up bottled water and soft drinks there, can anyone confirm this and advise on average prices.

  5. I'm really looking forward to them, luckily saw the original line up in there prime for the "Get in the ring" tour, it was awsome.

However the line up may of changed but it still doesn't change the fact some of the songs are almost embedded in rock history and instantly recognisable.

Axl is still an awsome performer and will probally remain so until he dies.

  6. Well i am glad to hear that people do go to enjoy the music, guess i didn't really doubt it, was more worried about the wife and how she would feel if it was full of chav's being sick down themselves, becouse they thought they were big and clever drinking more than there bodies could handle

  7. Hi,

This is my first festival, tickets are booked.

I can see from the post that alot of people who attend are quite young.

I'm 38 and my wife is 43, until last year she had never been to a concert or anything, but is a huge music lover, so i took her to see AC/DC at Wembley and she loved it.

So this year i thought i would try Leeds as it's closer to home, larger event etc.

Just wondered what you guys thought (dont flame me lol) are we too old or can we still enjoy this.

    Thanks :P
