  1. Just wanted to share this photo with people who would appreciate it! My daughter (who was then 4!) watching the flaming lips on her dads shoulder at Glasto 2010! It was the best night! Can't wait to do it again!

  2. I've been to the solstice a few times, I love it! The rules do seem to change each time though so not sure I can offer much advice. Last year you had to pay to park, which I think was about £10. You can sleep, eat, drink etc in the car park, but they were really strict about taking booze down to the stones. If you are heading down to glasto anyway, I'd say give it a go! It's massively underwhelming at sunrise, but overall a good night out! :)

Absolutely gutted, none of our 10 got through and neither did another group we know. First time we've ever failed in 6 years. :(

I have failed before, but have always gone. I know it is a depressing wait, but there are loads more chances. Keep the faith x

  4. I really struggled on Friday. The result, Jo cox's tribute (which was fantastic)  and watching the Syrian orchestra led me into a deep depression about the state of the world that lasted most of the day. Thank god for billy bragg and the awesome atmosphere at left field that evening. It was so good to be with other people feeling shit, and pulled me out of my miserable mind set. Overall I had a great weekend.

well that was embarrassing literally sobbing on the radio... AAAAAAHHHHHHHH

I think a lot of us who have been following this were sobbing with you! I'm actually still shedding tears! I can't believe how happy I am for you! I don't know you!!! Glastonbury spirit is alive a kicking.... Have an amazing time xX

  6. Still really hoping your tickets magically appear in your neighbours kitchen draw or back at seetickets. If they weren't in the bin, they must be somewhere! Glastonbury miracles can happen. Hope you are busy getting ready for next weekend. Keep the faith it will all be ok X

  7. My first was 2004, I was massively overwhelmed by everything!

2005 was ones of my faves, despite loosing most of my possessions in the flood, it was an amazing year. I danced a lot!

2014 ranks the highest. It was the first year I went on my own with my daughter. Her first time was 2010 so by 2014 she knew the score, and me and her (age 8 at the time) had such an amazing time together despite all my anxieties of being there with her alone. We absolutely loved it. Oddly she loved dancing in the storm the most. Which was quite reminiscent of my fun times in 2005! :)

  8. If you can avoid going through a barrier at Paddington you will be ok, but sadly the barriers have got good recently at knowing if you have an off peak ticket and won't open. I've tried a few times (I commute to London a couple of times a week). One solution I've found is to try my luck with the  barrier man, saying I'll pay the upgrade fee to the conductor. It's worked once or twice, but there have been times I've either had to go back to the ticket office to upgrade my ticket or wait till 6.45pm :( Good luck!

    UPDATE:

Tickets have not turned up sadly but we have reported the tickets as stolen to the police now, it should not be our fault if our neighbour has "lost" them.

We will be going down Wednesday morning to the ticket office to attempt to get in, I really do wish it goes well as this past week has been a nightmare.

I really hope they let you in without too much trouble. Have a great festival x

    Latest Update

    ============

Had email from Royal Mail's CEO office yesterday. They have requested some details and are going to investigate. Fingers crossed! If they don't find the envelopes at least it is more proof to take with us & shows that RM are taking the matter seriously!

This is good news. There is still time for the tickets to turn up. Keeping everything crossed for good news for you today X X X

I'd always play entirely ignorant with stuff like this. Contact See saying you didn't get the tickets, they'll then say they were signed for and you can say not by you... although in this case they'd end up sending replacements to the same address which doesn't help.

But I've had issues before with things going missing and there's a note they might have been delivered to a neighbour or left somewhere and they're not there... and it's not worth the hassle to try and solve it yourself, just go with the "I don't have them" and let them handle it. Once you try and compromise or be helpful or investigate yourself that just gets used as evidence that it's your fault and no longer their problem.

Maybe the postie saw they were mis-addressed and signed for them himself and pocketed them. Probably not. But they can never know that for sure until you tell them "oh it was the neighbour's signature".

I've been following this thread with all the hope the tickets have turned up. So, from what i have read, I think it might be a bit too late for this tactic. I'm pretty sure they have explained honestly what has happened to see. Useful for the future though, it might have got a better response?? :)

I am feeling hopefully after today.

If SeeTickets get them they will call us (they are on alert).

So our neighbour wife signed for it but I think she just put it in a pile for her husband. Which is why he was confused at first why she would sign for something which did not have her or his name on it. I really do not think they have it at this point.

I still have my fingers and toes crossed that it will work itself out. I have good karma from finding a Macbook Air on the train the other day and giving it to Virgin.

Returning the Mac defo deserves some good karma. I'm becoming a bit obsessed with this thread, just hoping for a Glastonbury miracle and you get your tickets. You must be so stressed about it. Fingers crossed tomorrow is a good day :) X X xX

  13. If they aren't in the bin, they must either still be in his house, in which case he will stumble across them and bring them over for his cash reward,  or have been posted back return to sender in which case you can hopefully easily get them sent back out again! I think this is going to end well for you too.

Hopefully they are at see tickets just in a pile of mail waiting to be opened by someone. Have you asked see tickets what their process is for this, as I assume on their system they are marked as delivered (as your neighbour signed for them).

actually, now I'm doubting myself. Why would someone sign for a letter that's not for them, only to put it back in the post???

still... I'm sure it's all going to work out X
