  1. Well, it's not a bad thoughts but...

He spoken about nothing else since April!

We've done many of the smaller festivals before.

And he has picked out his own fancy dress for the event!

But funnily enough I did consider the same.

They're on their way back from hospital now and everything seems okay.

I think we're swinging towards going

Thanks again everyone for your help

  2. Thanks for all your advice! Yesterday the GP seemed to think he'd be fine at the festival. At the moment he's at the hospital having some checks. Since he's got there, he's had absolutely no stomach pain at all! Don't you love kids for making things smooth and easy!.?

  3. Right, now as a responsible parent the answer should be obvious....

We are wanting some advice however as we're not sure we fall into that category..!

    Glastonbury festival clouds mind!

Our six your old boy has developed stomach cramps over the past two days. We've had him checked out, though he's back with the doctors this morning..(bad night)..no-one (medical) can seem to commit to whether it's appendicitis or wind or anything!

What are people's experiences of on site medical care at Glasto?

Obviously we should stay home and look after him. But is it utter madness to carry on going and look after at the festival?

Those wicked gods of bad timing are seriously at play here...

  4. Perhaps I should put a little sustance behind my response.

I think Prince would actually be very good IF he did a greatest hits set, maybe even a 3rd Eye Blind or whatever they're called set would be good, I don't know because I don't listen to him.

I may be wrong but hasn't he released a ton of stuff over the years but none of it sells well? When was his last really big album? The one with Gold on it? 20 years ago?

But... what would I concider a great Saturday night out if given the choice between Prince and Metallica? It wouldn't be the little, paranoid, purple one, that's for sure.

  5. So, I know I may be in dream land but... where are we all on Prince v Metallica (i know where my money would be if it was a Harry Hill fight!)

I love that Glasto would put Metallica out there as a headliner- pretty controversial...

But surely we ALL agree PRINCE is a proper Saturday night out... no?

  6. Right.

Everyone is nailing Metallica on the Saturday Night door....

Glasto have stated they can't announce until May coz of 'contractual reasons'...

    Prince was heavily rumoured....

Prince has just announced UK arean tour- tickets on sale today...

    Am I absolutely alone here????

PRINCe is sooooooooooooooo much more a Saturday Night out..!!!!!

  7. Cheers Mr G

I am gonna get one on the largest ones (114 x 52 is best I can find) and see how they both fit ..!! In he past we've used a Phil & Ted's (at Latitude) and last year at EOTR we had them in a cycle trailer but they is getting bigger!

I guess i could make a proper harness and pull like a mule !!!!!

If its a wet one it will be major work.....

If anyone has any super-trolley-cart suggestions for mid-sized kiddie transportation..... PLeaasseeee do shout...!

  8. Thanks for all the advice peoples..!!

Yeah, its all a bit new for us from this angle... been to Glasto 10 times now, but logisitics with kids is a new avenue! Do many people turn up at 9pm in car parks on Tuesday??? I cant imagine that one with the 4 and 6 year old but it may be worth it..(EEEEEEKKKK)...

Hiking is ok for us but with the possibility of two garden carts being towed along and the lovely mud, (i know there wont be any, it'll be beautiful all weekend ;).....) Wickets felt a bit daunting...

Are the q's bad at 7am on a weds morning already?

  9. Thanks Snoopy

Did Wickets end up 'tent to tent' by the end..? One of our worries is how to get back to the tent with two carts in tow..!!?? OUr kids are 4 and 6 so we hope to have two pretty large pull alongs out with us in the eves and know that even walking back to tents in the dairy can be tricky let alone pulling carts ..LOL

  10. Hi all

    Excited but poor (ouch!)..

So we nearly dropped out this year- no childcare came thru and we had always left Glasto as our Festivel (leaving kids behind!)... but when push came to shove, we had to be there... so kids coming too for the first time !!!!!! They are 4 and 6 so should be ok and have done other festi's with us....

Anyway, its decided but now we need to plan... usually we are in pennard/ dairy but gonna try do family this year. really wanna do Cockmill... we are hoping to arrive at site about 7 am on Weds morning (leaving brighton about 4am)... we have a pretty big tent and wondered how pitches would be in the family sites if we arrive then? I know gate dont open til 8 but I have no idea what the queues will be like at 7 am!! We usually get in about 2pm Weds and things are rammed by then but we dont need such a big pitch.. when I say big, usual 6 man tent- not a big top!!!

Any advice will be fab fab fab ...

    thank you x

  11. Hello..

Exciting tomorrow innit..? Anyway, can people help..? My wife and I were 2 of the numpties wot let our reg expire... i dont know how..!!

So, we have two friends registered, but have decided not to bother this year...

we are gona use their reg numbers..

Now, I know you can update info sowe can change names/ address/ emails etc but...

When we have tried to update photo to put ours on, there doesn't seem to be that option..

    Any ideas..??

    Thanks so much..

Otherwise I have to dye me hair and my wife needs to straighten hers..!!! LOL

  12. I read this thread with a smile on my face... It will make our job at the festival this year easier, yes, do not fear, the Karma Police will indeed be in attendance again, helping you all to share the love in these and other unmentionable ways.. and to make our passage around the site more efficient, we shall be mounted (on horseback that is- behave!) :D

  13. just seen that he arisen from the depths...!! saw him years ago and he was magic..!! Would grace the hallowed lands of Glastonbury like a lost son... Neil and all with influence, try to get his ass there.. petition? now?

  14. The announcements today make it a U2 Friday and Chems Saturday night for dancin' for me... i wanna know all now..!! anyone else agree with these two adds..? if so, lets start a petition... ;)

  15. I am aware of the misplacement of this thread but,...

I guessed someone here may have experience..

Me daughter and her mates are wanting to go to either beni or exit after their a levels this year.. a few of them will be just under 18, inc me daughter (her b'day is mid aug).. does anyone know how strict these festivals are with ID checks..? i would hate for her to get there and not get in..!!!!!! ta

  16. bloomin' ekkkers... i started summit here... i just popped off to a bit of work after posting this and have come back to a torrent...

i have had a quick read thru and cant even begin to believe there is part of glasto society thinking PRINCE (yes PRINCE ROGERS NELSON!!!!) is not suitable headliner material or status.!!!!

Dontcha know your moooosical history efesters..!!!

If he plays, it will be one of the best sets ever on the pyramid.. those saying they cant recall 10 songs will be dancing their tiny minds and butts off to songs they forgot they loved... the ONLY doubt in my mind is if he does a set of fan pleasers rather than the hits.. which he wouldn't cos he's a star and got their by knowing what people want...
