  1. Hey guys, I have Friday tickets for AC/DC.

It's the first time I've been to download and I was wondering what sort of time I'll need to get there. I know the arena gates open at 2pm and music starts an hour later, but say if I got there at one will I be able to get lunch and any merch I want or will I have to wait in the car park until 2pm?

I guess what I'm saying is as day ticket holders will we have access to the village before the arena opens?

I wanted to get this posted before all you lucky weekend ticketers leave tomorow :)

    Cheers

  2. I was enrolled to work download this year with what I think used to be the better festival group but i think they've changed names now?

Anyway got an email off them a while ago saying they no longer needed volunteers because they didnt get the contract with download or something.

Still, with a lineup like this i'd rather pay and see all the acts i want too :)

  3. This may just be me over thinking it, but does anyone else feel it could be made into another DVD, as like a return to Donington?

It would seem like a reason for the rest of the stages finishing early, so they could have maximum numbers there and less disruption from over stages shown on high shots?

  4. I get the feeling the booking of ACDC is more then just for Download to sell tickets this year, AC touched on this but I think they're hoping it puts Download on the 'map' globally and gives them far more weight in the future when negotiating with bands and stuff, if that makes sense :/. No surprise Friday is going to be making cuts lower down though, is it?
  5. Absolute bollocks

a weekend ticket this year is £180 before fees, I know a fair few would have been early bird but lets just say they do sell out the 110,000 they have at £180, thats nearly £20million. Its a Live Nation event this isn't some little shanty festival. They have just as much money as V and Reading and Leeds do through tickets sales, so basically theres no reason to use this excuse. Im sure they've probablly spent £4-5 million tops on this line up

  6. I just bought a day ticket for the AC/DC day. I think for AC/DC fans, many wouldn't even care about other bands playing. I mean it'd be great to have a full days music, but its still not terrible value considering id probably pay that just to go see them in their own show :P

Download never have as much money to spend on acts as others, so to pull out the bag three headliners who are pretty much the biggest acts in their respective fields there had to be sacrifices somewhere. Still, I can see why weekend ticket holders are disappointed. Them crooked vultures are quite a pull as well on that day. Maybe if they had a slightly bigger band than wolfmother bringing up the rearer people wouldnt feel so cheated?

  7. Based on what I'm hearing about ticket sales, i'd be surprised if they even bother with a UK Sonisphere next year. Or if they do (apparently they were booked for three) unless they do something really impressive (would literally have to be Led Zep or someone) that one will be the last one.
