  1. I'm hoping for The National, The Vacines, Glasvegas and Foals.

I think there's a good chance for any of them except maybe Foals, they might be wishful thinkin seen as they were there last year but fingers crossed anyway...

For a headliner... I can't call it now but would like Eminem, RHCP, Prince but all are pretty doubtful I'd say??

  2. Cheers for that. Actually thinkin back to last year we ended up sharing taxis to Castellon a few times. Cant see why Marina Dor would be any different. And I've heard it's lovely beach too. If I get any more info I'll let you know too.

    Roll on July!!

  3. I'm staying there myself and a few friends this year. Not sure how far it is and what story with buses is but it's supposed to be closer than Castellon which is bout 15 mins opposite side of Beni town.

I stayed Castellon last year, just me and girlfriend and it was grand travelling in and out in taxis. Bout 15-20 euro each way. 15 min spin. I'm guessing Marina D'or will work out the same but if anyone else knows anymore i'd appreciate the advice too...

  4. Photocopy of both your own passport and passport of person who bought tickets should do. That's what I had last year. I bought girlfriends ticket and had a copy of her passport and mine with it.

Your case is slightly different in that person who bought ticket won't be present (whereas I was there in person with her) might be no harm in copying creditcard used. Just the front and you could even blank out most of the card number... Just to be on the safe side

  5. @ CookCook...

My experience is it's the most relaxed festival ever, everyone is out for a good time and up for a laugh. The locals are friendly too and just carry on their normal lives while festival crowds are there. The waterpark is on the doorstep of the festival practically and it's perfect for chillin during the day, especially if your looking for a comfortable place to catch up on some kip, there's loads of sun beds in the shade ;)

There was one thing I'd add to your list of things to bring... An air mattress to give a bit of comfort in your tent. Made all the difference to me last year. And actually ear plugs and eyemask if ya think you'll use them. I had them but didn't bother last year... Was so tired by time I did go for a few hours sleep that I'd have slept standing up. Girlfriend used them last year alright and swore by them. You can buy most things in campsite anyway, deckchairs and stuff and they don't screw ya on the price... Wouldn't bank on getting a tent though that's one thing to defo bring yourself.

As for Villacamp I can't help you there, I've never been in there.

  6. ian brown at glasto 2005 is one of the best gigs i have ever been too. he might not have the voice but he certainly has the songs and the back catalogue. cant wait to see him. hope he slips in a couple of stone roses songs.

Definately recommend the cribs, probably my favourite band of the last few years and great live

  7. Loving this idea of a positive thread...

    Top 5 for me

    Ian Brown

    Vampire Weekend

    Two Door Cinema Club

    The Prodigy

    Leftfield

Number 1 Act for me though has to be Ian Brown. Big fan of his solo career as well as the Stone Roses.

His new album 'My Way' is brilliant.

If theres any Ian Brown fans on or any one interested in a live performance heres 1 of the best in my opinion...

singing I Wanna Be Adored and Sally Cinnamon

and 1 more for good luck :P ...

    singing Golden Gaze and Stellify

Two Bands that I dont really know much about but I'm hearing a lot about are Foals and the Cribs...

I'm going to listen to these over next few days and see what I think

Also just checked out Midnight Jugernauts - Into the Galaxy... liked what I saw. Another band I'll be checking out a bit more.

  8. My first Beni and am taking it as a holiday with some brilliant bands along the way. Didnt even notice that Lily Allen got added which im pretty happy about. Reckon Ray Davies will be pretty good aswell, does he do old kinks stuff live?

Im looking forward to- The Prodigy, Kasabian, Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, The Cribs, Ray Davies, Courteeners, Hot Chip, Ian Brown, Julian Casblancas, Klaxons, the Hacienda night, The Specials, PiL(but think they will be headlining the other stage). Will prob watch Skream as heard some good things. Any of the 'unknon' bands that are worth checking out?

  9. I agree with sprostongreen and a few others on here...

I'm happy with a lot there Ian Brown, Vampire Weekend, Kasabian, Prodigy, Leftfield, Two door cinema club, Dizee Rascal, Lilly Allen, Ellie Goulding, Delorentos and Jack L. Im wondering what Ray Davies, Julian Casablancas and Peter Hook will be like but I'm reckoning they'll be pretty good.

The Hacienda Night... Graeme Park, DJ Pierre and Justin Robertson. I'd put a banker on it that if you like dance music your in for a treat here and if you don’t like dance music… the atmosphere will get ya!! I admit I haven't heard of the first two but I reckon theres a treat in store there!! Theres a lot of other Dance Acts in there from France and Spain so its not likely that Irish or English people would have heard of them but thats not to say they're not good.

Theres a mixed bag here with something for everyone and how many bands can one person listen too; if all acts were top class then there'd be complaining that people couldnt see them all. There sun, beach, camping for a whole week included and I dont know about english festivals but its a hell of a lot cheaper that any of the bigger Irish Festivals!!

There was some amount of people moaning about this and comparing it to other Festivals... why not wait til its finalized and if ya still dont like it then dont go. Just leave the rest of us enjoy our Festival!!

Come on Beni, Bring on the good times!!

  10. to be honest last year the bands were just a bonus, beach, camping etc was such a laugh.

prodigy and kasbian are headlining other big uk fest, dizzee is doing global gathering and bestival.

yeh some other big bands wud be good but i aint that fussed on muse,

faithless and libertines would be much better additions

  11. Glad I'm not the only one - thought I might just be being a grumpy old woman!! I'm sure there were more acts than this announced this time last year - and better quality too (although I do appreciate it was an anniversary year so they had bigger and better bands than usual). Am happy with VW, Courteeners, Leftfield, M & Sons, Cribs...but think they need a couple more serious headliners. Ridiculous really as people will just be buying tickets to alternative international festivals instead - that's what I'd be doing now if I hadn't already booked for Beni.

Am sure they say '100 bands' on the site...and there are surely only about 50 currently acts on the line-up (and about ten of those are utterly obscure acts that only their mothers have heard of!) - so presumably they're only halfway through...? I swear, if they announce another ten 'acts' along the lines of Alondra Bentley, Delorentos and Fionn Reagan (who, who and who?), I'm sticking the ticket on ebay and going to a couple of UK festivals instead!!

  12. Has anyone ever travelled from Reus to Castellon by train?

Trying to book tickets but the Renfe website is in Spanish. Even when I pick english as the language it changes back to Spanish once you move to another page??

I know Tarragona Train Station is close to Reus and thats where you can travel to Beni or Castellon but after that any advice would be appreciated??

  13. Im part of the crubs mailing list and have received a message sayng what festivals they are playing in the summer, and as has been announced previously, thy are playing Beni. However, on the list it says they will be playing Beni on the 17th July, so thats one act confirmed for a actual date. Any other bands self confirmed there dates for the fest?
  14. If you are wanting to camp at Bonet you're not likely to get in if you arrive on the Wednesday/Thursday bu there'll be no problem at all if you are heading towards campFIB (a nicer campsite in my opinion).

Thanks for that, I dont really mind which campsite we get once we get one.

They both seem to have their own advantages.

  15. Just signed up as a member. Booked Benicassim awhile back now (never been before).

I was happy once I saw Ian Brown and Kasabian... knew more good names would follow.

Looking forward to Vampire Weekend too though and Ellie Goulding (for the missus), gave a quick listen to samples of Two Door Cinema Club on iTunes too - they could be pretty good.

Still hoping for another 1or2 headliners but definitely gonna be an unreal week!!

    Just wanted to doublecheck something...

I'm flying in on Wednesday, prob get to Beni round 10 that night; can anyone tell me should there still be campsite space available??

I've read that there should be if its only for 1 tent not a group.

And if I couldnt get there til Thursday morning would that make a big difference??
