  1. Thanks Mick, good to know that someones done the same before without a problem and good to know what to expect. Just managed to get booked in, same price as the other place which we didn't have to pay a cancelation fee on, so alls good.

Thanks for the link Lochlands, spoke to the lady at the punchbowl who reckons it won't be a problem getting a taxi but if it is, we'll just have to walk and make an adventure of it! and I'm a cumbrian myself but the other end but prob got a good idea of the way things work up there. Thanks again, can start to look forward to it now.

  2. Hi, thanks again for the advice, didn't realise it was such a bad road and was only judging it by distance. Would you suggest that staying anywhere in Askham to be a better idea and how far/long do you think the walk would be and do you know if we'd be able to get a taxi from there any easier. Sorry for all the questions but you obviously know you're stuff and will be a great help. Thanks again in advance

  3. Hi, can anyone give me any advice for getting in and out of the site over the weekend? I've emailed the KC team but haven't really had a straight answer and I think it might be too late to apply for an official pass out and not sure if we need one anyway.  Due to a worsening physical condition, camping is no longer a possibility, so we booked into a guest house just a couple of miles away. We've bought full weekend camping and a car parking ticket but intended leaving the car either at the guest house or at the festival site for the duration and hoped to get a taxi to and from site each day/night. We were under the impression that an official 'pass out' would only be needed for for those who needed to get on and off site with a vehicle as understand this is an inconvenience and it would need to prearranged but has anyone had any experience or problems getting in and out on foot with just a weekend wristband?

Thanks in advance for any advice

  4. As a family of 5, kids 10 & 11, youngest of 6, we had a ball! Massive thanxs to the guys at the ladybird tent, my son wanted to adopt some guy there as his stepdad. Everything was spot on really but the throwing of beer cans around the main stage, made it scarey to take our kids closer. I aint gotta clue but maybe let alcohol into the main arena and def a bit of weed!!! May make the whole vibe a bit more mellow. The older hippies, like myself loved it! Badly Drawn Boy!! My advice... Let the sweet smell go and arrest the MR BOOZYE"S!. You gotta attract the oldies aswell as the youngsters! There were some well behaved groups of youngsters aswell. My son couldn't believe he met superman 3 times??? To be honest... best festie so far! fantasic venue, just make security get rid of the idiots and nxt year will be buzzin ( r u lovin it?)

  5. Absolutley gobsmacked at the line-up actually, it's up there with the top festies. Has anyone else booked through ticketline? Wish I had the paper thingy in my hand but gotta trust that we'll get our tickets two weeks before??? Spent the last few hours, scanning the acts and they are all superb but gotta say, the Lancashire Hotpots are well worth watching. Saw them at Solfest last year and they were amazing!! BTW> solfest had a special smoking tent with black cats on it. I'd pay double if that tent were at kendal calling!!! :P

  6. Hi. We've never done Kendal Calling before but have got tickets this year and are taking our three kids, 11, 9 and 6. We've heard it is good for families. Solfest is another smaller festie that we have done with the kids and they loved it.

Can anyone tell me if we can take a caravan to Kendal Calling. We've bought a campervan ticket as we have booked to hire a VW camper but we're now in the process of buying a caravan and would prefer to take this. Thanks for any advice.
