  1. Hellloooooo lovely pregnant ladies !! :)

I was 24 weeks pregnant last year at Glastonbury - so glad I went !! I camped as usual, went to the front of the stages as usual... just jumped around a bit less than usual... ;)

As you all say, just take things a bit easier and be more realistic about what you can do / see in a day - I did miss the pear cider, but apart from that it was fantastic, and I'm really proud to say that my son has already attended his first Glasto...

Oh, and make sure you buy him / her a t-shirt !!

The Radical Midwives Yurt in the Healing Fields was fab - wish I'd got a belly cast, it was just too hot though! And in the Park, at the top by the tower, was the White Ribbon Alliance tent (Google them) who gave free squash and cake and tattoos (Mum-themed tattoos) - well worth dropping into.

BTW, I am going again this year with my now 7-month old boy - camping again - and am far more anxious about that than I ever was going as a pregnant lady ! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy xxx

  2. Do bring the babies back to visit the Radical Midwives Yurt we love seeing the finished product so to speak ;-)

also nice for other pregnant women to know festivals can be done with a littlie

Got my tickets so hope to see some of you there xx

  3. I've got one !!!

Reuben Henry Burrows, born Saturday 23rd October - 8lb 8oz

He's nearly 2 weeks old already, and we did manage to get tickets to next year's Glasto - so see you there redmosquito & Eddie !! Can't wait :):):)

I would post a picture, but can't work out how to do it !! Just imagine the most gorgeous baby boy (aside from yours of course) and that's Reuben.

  4. Edward Philip was finally born at 11:16am on Monday 30th weighing 8lb 1 1/2oz. He's absolutely perfect. Both Mum & Ed are doing really well and came home yesterday.

    Here's a few pics

  5. Hi all !!

Just wanted to say it was lovely meeting you all - hope you had a fab weekend B)

The heat was really difficult, but I think it probably forced me to slow down & take it easy instead of my usual marching round the site to see as many bands as possible !!! So in a way it was a blessing in disguise...

I did make it to the photo shoot with the White Ribbon Alliance in the Park - they were great there and really looked after us all. I haven't been able to find any versions yet of the pictures that were taken - there were loads of cameras there, so there must be some somewhere!

My husband's 'tattoo' still hasn't washed off :)

I also wanted to say thankyou to the stewards at the John Peel tent who let me onto the disabled platform at the back to watch numerous bands - fantastic !!! Turns out that being pregnant at Glastonbury has it's advantages... ;)

Keep in touch everyone, and best of luck with the next few weeks...

    Terri x

p.s. doesn't my knee look great in the Guardian photo ??!!

  6. Been to 10 Glastonburys so far, and NEVER had anything nicked - either pre-fence or post-fence...

I know I've just jinxed myself now for this year though :P

Just use common sense - with nearly 200,000 people in one place there's bound to be some opportunists but at the end of the day it's a hell of a lot safer than most places on the weekend !

No valuables = nothing to worry about. And do take changes of clothes (or you'll end up having to buy stuff from the stalls - not the end of the world, as long as you like to stand out :P )

    Relax and don't worry - it's heaven, and you're going !!!!

  7. I saw The National at the Royal Albert Hall last Thursday - while I LOVE their music I was a little dubious as to how they'd come off live....

    THEY ROCKED IT !!!!!

The lead singer has soooo much energy, brilliant live - so unexpected :P

I too would recommend Alligator as their finest, particularly Mr November - the best song of the gig last week.

...as for The Editors, saw them at Glasto a couple of years ago and was disappointed - it all began to sound the same after about 3 songs !

  8. Hi

This will be my 11th glasto but my 1st glasto being 5 and 1/2 months preggers with my 1st! I am very excited about glasto anyway, but also how this year will be different than other years as all i know is having a drinky poos and lots of exploring of the site :P . I will be intrested in meeting up also, good to meet new people going through expereiences same as me at a festival and hopefully be keep in touch and meet up when we take our bubbas next year! I'll keep my eyes open for the meet details.

  9. Superb !!! That was fast work, thankyou soooo much - your Clashfinders are invaluable :P

Whenever I see Glasto goers frantically thumbing through their Guardian pocket guides I smile a little smile to myself...

  10. I agree 100%. Worst line up I can remember. It's the 40th for Christ's sake!

Something like this would have been epic:

Friday: Keane. New album coming out, massively popular band on radio 1. Everybody Changes recenlty voted in the top5 songs of alltime by Heat magazine.

Saturday: Kasabian. If they can headline V then can certainly headline Glastonbury. The most charismatic and likeable front man in rock n roll deserves the biggest stage. Noone can deny this. Best live band in living memory.

Sunday: Snow Patrol. I defy anyone to think of an amazing mass singalong to the emotional rollercoaster that is "Chasing Cars" and not get teary eyed. Probably the best band of the last 30 years has come of age and should have been a shoe-in for the 40th anniversary.

Who oh why oh why did the myopic Eavis's not go for a dream line up like this?
