Bristol's Youth 4 Youth festival this year is titled Station Starts Here and takes place over three days from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st October 2012 at a new venue in the centre of Bristol - The Station, on Silver Street.

Line-up

Saturday and Sunday will be the Main Event and the Sunday Sessions which take on a more festival feel. Organised by Youth For Youth, the Main Event will feature star headliner Tinchy Stryder, a performance by Lace on Lipstick, UV DJ rooms, dress up photo booths, film chill out spaces and performances from Urban Arts Space who will be breaking out into performances throughout the crowds performing theatre and choreographed dance pieces. Youth 4 Youth are also working with RE:ACT, Dutty Girl, Pedal Wallah, Invisible Circus, See No Evil, Sustrans and Arcadia.

Incorporating music, dance and art, the regional heats of nationwide DJ competition House the House will also take place. A number of workshops will run, supported by Dutty Girl, Bear Moves, Off the Record and Creative Youth Network.

Sunday will have a Tours Takeover. Working with various Youth organisations to put on music events such as The Basement Studio, New Generation Takeover, Gathering Voices and TYNTE. Last Night A DJ Saved My Life will also be holding a nationwide DJ competition. The regional's will be held at the Kingswood Estate with Urban Arts Space and the 8 finalists will perform at SSH...Station Starts Here, with the winner going on to play at prestigious music venue in London.

Station Starts Here kicks off with 'Fashion Friday'. A fashion show with the theme Re-duce, Re-use, Re-cycle will showcase work by young people, UWE fashion students and local designers. A 'Project Runway' style competition, run in conjunction with the UWE Fashion department, will see young people faced with a room of old clothes and accessories and given just 30 minutes to cut, customise and style outfits before the catwalk show.

On site

Every step of the build and design was done through consultation with a team of young people called the Station Drivers, who transformed a Grade II listed Fire Station into a major youth hub. Creative Youth Network is the lead partner, working with many other partners from Bristol and beyond. Organisations include Brook, Bristol City Council, Off the Record Counselling Service, Young Bristol, Basement Studio and Bristol YMCA.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
