The Square Festival 2008


The Square festival is a music and performance arts festival which takes place from Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th July 2008 on the western coast of Wales, in a small seaside village called Borth, which is 5 miles north of Aberystwyth.

The acts confirmed for the festival are Alabama 3, Pendulum + MC verse (DJ set), The Crimea, Radio Luxembourg, Zenyth, The mighty FUOD, Hot Puppies, Ember, Nemo, Guile, and Dom and Rolland. For the line-up details as available please click here.

The festival will have 2 days of live music over 4 stages and play host to 60 bands. The main stage will have up and coming bands Wales and England expect pop and rock, to ska and live dance music. The Backbeating stage will be predominantly an acoustic and world music stage. Some of the styles you can expect to hear are gypsy, klezmer, ska, reggae, European and Balkan beats. The Kontrol Stage will have plenty of local DJs will be showcasing their talents at the festival, as well as some of the most exciting names from the north, south, and east.

There will also be a Cabaret Stage open to all of those creative people out there who fancy a show off. Whether it be music, stand up comedy, poetry readings or anything else you can think of.

There will be plenty of stalls at the festival, selling all kinds of things. Such as arts and crafts, vintage clothes and artwork, and of course - food and drink. Also, for the mornings before the festival starts, there is half price entry to the Animalarium for festival ticket holders. It's only a short walk from the site, and boasts animals from all over the world.
