A non-profit, community festival with morris and dance troupes, music and dance workshops, a children's arts and crafts tent, emergency service displays and presentations, together with other entertainers such as storytellers plus music from local bands.
After the bitter disappointment that Spratton Folk Festival had to be cancelled, the core of that steering committee have formed their own not for profit organisation to stage a similar event which became the Merry Tom Folk Festival which after a break in 2013 made a return as a one day event in 2016.
In March 2017 the Merry Tom Folk Festival organisers announced there would be no more festivals as they felt there was a strong risk that ticket sales wouldn't cover the cost of the event.
