Built on the folk dance and music scene in Sheffield, this festival aims to showcase local and national talent, with concerts, ceilidhs, contra and European dances, dance displays and folk clubs. There is also the opportunity to learn new skills through workshops, music sessions and singarounds.
Artists include: Martin Simpson; Whapweasel; Artisan; John Tams and Barry Coope; Vertical Expression; Cloudstreet; Keith Donnelly; Minnie Moosika; Trinculo; Crosscurrent; Tegwen Roberts; No Fixed Abode; Please y'Self Skiffle Band; Johnny and the prison didn't help boys; Dulzaina; and Catrin, Ceri and Josie.
Kelham Island Industrial Museum is the heart of this years festival. Indoor camping, caravanette hard standing and car parking are all a short walk from the museum.
Many of the festival sessions will take place in pubs very close by. The Royal Society for the Blind Hall will be the main dance venue for the Saturday day of dance. This venue is located near to Sheffield City Centre and is a half an hour walk from the museum or a short tram ride away.
