Shalfest 2008

The Shalbourne Beer and Music Fayre has changed its name to Shalfest and the event is a music and ale festival held in Wiltshire and taking place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th July 2008 and will see 9 bands play across the two days with the programme running from 6pm - midnight on Friday and 12pm - midnight on Saturday.

The confirmed headliners are Boy Kill Boy for Friday and Idlewild on Saturday. Winners of "World Best Tribute Act" award Killer Queen will also appear on Saturday. Other acts include The Echoes, and Nightprowler on Friday and Dr Teeth Big Band, "Battle of the Bands" winners (TBA), Life At The Pines, and Same Old Faces on Saturday. For the line-up details as available please click here.

Commercial radio will broadcast live from the site throughout the event and other music will include the winners of a 3 month X-Factor style "Battle of The Bands" competition.

The festival has provision for camping, in addition to an extensive selection of real ales, fairground rides and shuttle buses to and from the site. Early bird tickets are expected on sale at the beginning of April. With demand expected to exceed all previous events, advanced ticket purchasing is recommended and will be available at a special rate. Advanced weekend ticket prices will be around £30 including camping, teen tickets around £20 with day tickets also available.
Directions
Due to the growth of the event, it has moved to a larger site just outside the village. Shalbourne village is 4 miles south of Hungerford, just off the A338 (SN8 3QF). The festival site is at the top Rivar Hill on the ridge above the village, alongside the unclassified local road to Fosbury (SN8 3NJ).

There's a free bus service on which festival tickets can be purchased and will operate from the surrounding towns and villages.

Tickets on the gate subject to availability.
