Seahouses Festival 2009


Seahouses Festival is a FREE three day event happening from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June 2009 at Seahouses Harbour, Seahouses, in Northumberland.

This year's Festival celebrates the natural environment of the surrounding area - the North Northumberland coastline, wildlife and maritime heritage. There are a wide range of events and performers - music, dance, food, children's events, workshops, talks, art and film. The Festival is free (donations are welcomed).

Music entertainment is on offer on outdoor and indoor stages with everything from big band sounds, jazz, and folk, to rock, indie and classical. The line-up is confirmed as:

Saturday
Harbour Hill Stage: Dan Walsh and 'Land or Sea', Nick Pride and the Pimptones, Martin Stephenson, The Keelers, Maybe Myrtle and Tyrtle.
Methodist Church Stage: The Cornshed Sisters, followed by a 'Singing Workshop' all welcome; plus the Alnwick Pipers
Alistair Anderson in concert. Performing 'The Farne Islands', plus a programme of traditional Northumbrian music. 7.30pm.

Sunday
Harbour Hill Stage: Kirill Gara, Royal Hunt of the Sun, Monkey's Fist, and The Briganties.
Methodist Church Stage: The Watchorns, Blackthorn, plus The Sutherans, Lesley Roley, and The Fluxes.

Other activities include a Beach festival, an Environmental Film Festival, a giant Seascape painting project on the Harbour wall, Art Exhibition, a series of nature exploration events e.g. Seashore Safaris, a Food festival with the best of local produce as well as crafts, workshops, demonstrations and displays.
