Rockfield Country Music Festival 2012


Rockfield Country Music Festival is an all ages event which takes place on Perthyre Farm, Rockfield, Monmouth, Wales, and takes place on the Queen's Jubilee bank holiday weekend from Friday 1st to Monday 4th June 2012.

Line-up

Friday Afternoon: Double JR.
Friday Night: Doggone Country, Darren Jones.
Saturday Afternoon: Battle Of The Bands.
Saturday Night: Sidewinder from Holland, Spur, Kay D.
Sunday Morning: Line Dancing Lessons.
Sunday Afternoon: Battle Of The Bands.
Sunday Night: Chloe, Texas Tornadoes, Chris James.
Monday Morning: TBA.
Monday Afternoon: Kyotie.
Monday Night: Rachel Cain, Card Trick, Ian Highland.

Battle Of The Bands will feature Ayesha Jeffreys, Richard Lee, Gary Quinn, Redhillbilles, Jack Johnny & Old Monk, Shawn Harvey, US Mail, Loren Balaam, The Big Nowhere, and The Ginjammers. Plus many more yet to be announced.

Each year, the festival holds a Battle Of The Country Bands competition on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons where twelve up and coming country artists and bands compete for audience votes to win £2000 of recording time from sponsors Monnow Valley Studio.

Tickets

A Thursday-Sunday ticket is priced at £30 or day tickets are available priced at £12 per day. Children aged 5-14 years weekend tickets are priced at £10, with under 5s able to attend free. Free camping is available with all tickets. To buy tickets, click here.

Other entertainment

Other entertainment includes birds of prey show, Native Indian dancers, Pepper's country disco, raffle prizes, licensed bar, food stalls, and a hog roast.

The Lawmen wild west show which re-enacts gunfights and bar brawls from the Wild West, plus line dancing lessons, a bucking bronco machine, horseshoe throwing, the Lamb National, and a fast draw contest.

As many as twenty trade stands will be selling authentic American cowboy hats, boots, belts, crinoline dresses and other western wear, which is usually worn by a majority of the attendees at the event, making for an amazing 'American frontier' atmosphere.

Western dress

Western dress is ecnouranged and is usually worn by a vast majority of the attendees. There is also the nightly prize for the best dressed.
