Raisetheroof 2010

Raisetheroof celebrates their fifth birthday with a one day event on Friday 8th October at Leeds West Indian Centre in Leeds.

Organisers are adding six hundred square metres of outside space to the venue dubbed The Playground, an area packed full of art and interactive experiences.

Line-up

Dreadzone, East Park Reggae Collective, Middleman, The Sunshine Underground (DJ set), China Shop Bull, Exodus, Honeydrum, and Wombeatz Soundsystem (supporting women in electronic music) will be sourcing local talent for the side room – with the sounds of dubstep, breaks, electronica and drum and bass. Moonstomp Soundsystem will be DJing in the main room in between the live acts.

Also in the Playground will be The Ladybird Project, Oxjam stall, Happy Slap Makeup Boutique, 'Happy Snap' photobooth, Pimp My Clothes stand, a circus, bike powered Pacman, the heavenly court of Madame Fantasiste aerial show, sumo wrestling, live art by Don't Panic, Sno!zone snowboarding simulator, Ladybird Project art, photography exhibitions, film showings by Wild West Yorkshire, Leeds young authors poetry and spoken word and more surprises to be announced. The fancy dress theme is myths and legends.

This event is for over 18s only.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
