Porthcawl Elvis Festival 2011

Claiming to be Europe's biggest gathering of Elvis artistes and their fans, this event offers three days of fun and music all over the normally sleepy seaside town of Porthcawl, roughly halfway between Cardiff and Swansea, near to Bridgend.

What's on

The feature events are the Official Shows taking place in the Grand Pavilion. These include The Elvies the World's premier event for Elvis Tribute Artists. In addition, The Hi Tide host over 100 shows over the weekend, many with free admission.

Programme

The programme includes an official Festival Launch on Friday with a champagne reception and the chance to meet the artists and celebrities. Please note this show is only open to VIP Ticket Holders and Festival guests. Plus The Best Festival Elvis Competition (Heat One), and a performance from last year's winner.

Saturday will include The Best Festival Elvis Competition (Heat Two) followed by The Grand Final Award Show in the World for Elvis Tribute Artists. The show is followed by the Elvies Aftershow Disco into the early hours.

On Sunday, there's another slice of Elvis Shows.

Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed and are not yet on sale.

Fringe festival

Finally, over twenty venues in and around the Town form the Fringe Festival, making Porthcawl the largest Elvis event in Europe.

Festival village

In 2011 the festival adds a tented village, a special hospitality area.
