The Pickering 60s Festival is a FREE annual event held in the small market town of Pickering, North Yorkshire. Organised by a small committee of people and paid for by local fund raising events. Now in its third year the event takes place Thursday 10th until Saturday 12th June, in 2010.
The main attraction over the two days is live sixties music from both headline and local bands. During the evening on each day of the event there is a local 60s tribute band in each Public House in Pickering.
On Friiday there will be live 60s music in local pubs and clubs in the evening.
On Saturday during the day there will be a number of stalls, music, dressing up and a classic car parade at 5-00pm prior to the road closure after which the street party begins. The main bands will then play on two stages in the Market Place in the evening up to 10-00pm. Admission is totally free. After the main show there are live bands playing 60's music in the pubs and clubs around town.
The North Yorks Moors Steam Railway also have Sixties bands and classic cars at all stations throughout Saturday and Sunday, programme as follows:

On Thursday there is a Swinging Sixties live show featuring Dave Buddy as Buddy Holly & Friends, plus the music of other sixties stars such as Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison at the Kirk Theatre Hungate Pickering. Starts at 7.30pm untill 10.00pm. Tickets £5.00 and are on sale at Reeds Newsagents and Telivision House Market Place, Pickering and Eastgate News Eastgate, Pickering.
