In its fifth year in 2008, Oxford Folk Festival presents a weekend of music, dance and workshops.
Concerts and workshops will be held in venues throughout the city, including the Town Hall and the Holywell Music Rooms, as well as local pubs and clubs. The festival also spills into the city streets, with events happening throughout the weekend.
Many well-known names from the folk world are represented. Some acts have already been confirmed, including Bellowhead, the Katherine Tickell Band, Martin Simpson & Danny Thompson, and 3 Daft Monkeys. Click here for further details.
The festival also includes Family Fun with Cuckoo Crafts, a Grand Parade with Massed Morris Dancers plus ceilidhs, workshops, sessions, and a trade fair. Concerts and workshops take place both during the afternoon and evening. Refreshments - including a real ale bar - will be available throughout the weekend.
Accomodation is available at B&Bs, caravan and campsites in and around the city of Oxford. Indoor camping is available to Season Ticket holders only and should be booked well in advance. There is no festival site for outdoor campers.
