National Forest Folk Festival runs from Friday 4th to Sunday 7th July and is held at Conkers - an attraction in the heart of the National Forest, in an outdoor amphitheatre, set beside the lake at Conkers Waterside and surrounded by new woodland.

The line-up for 2008 includes on Friday Hayseed Dixie, Seth Lakeman, and Maybe Myrtle Tyrtle. Saturday has Dave Swarbrick, Maybe Myrtle Tyrtle, Shona Kipling and Damien O'Kane, Pete White's Suitcase Circus, Little Sister and a ceilidh with The Monster Ceilidh Band; and in the evening Seth Lakeman, Dave Swarbrick, and Shona Kipling and Damien O'Kane. Whilst on the Sunday The Tannahill Weavers, Shona Kipling and Damien O'Kane, Maybe Myrtle Tyrtle, Pete White's Suitcase Circus, 100 Man Orchestra, and Hand on Heart all play. There are more acts yet to be confirmed.

The weekend will be packed with daytime concerts and usually has a teatime ceilidh on Saturday.

Festival ticket holders have free access to the Conkers Discovery Centre and there is a range of local accommodation including camping facilities to choose from.
