Now in it's fourth year Live At Leeds takes place from Friday 30th April to Monday 3rd May over various venues in Leeds.

Live at Leeds festival will see national names joining the hottest local talent performing at venues around the city centre in a unique celebration of the best in new music.

Line-up

The first headline act is Wild Beasts. Other acts announced include Lightspeed Champion, The Sunshine Underground, Crystal Antlers, Gold Panda, Loops Haunt, The Neat, Esben & The Witch, Telegraphs, 65daysofstatic, Ellen and the Escapades, Johnny Foreigner, Frankie and the Heart Strings, The Horn The Hunt, and more. Split personality band The Bronx and their alter-egos Mariachi el Bronx will play their only date in the UK where both bands appear on the same day. Tickets

Tickets are priced at £15 for the all day event on Saturday 1st May 2010 and must must be exchanged for a festival wristband. The ticket holders must be present at the wristband exchange point. Wristbands allow entry to each of the participating venues, as individual venue capacities permit. To buy tickets, click here.

Cancelled event

The Drums' gig at The Cockpit has been cancelled due to the volcanic ash.

Fringe events

Apart from the performances, number of fringe events will be staged alongside the music. Live at Leeds will also provide an industry seminar, educational seminars, workshops and a networking afternoon at an as-yet-unconfirmed venue to help new bands and anyone interested break into the industry. Friday evening sees the first Live at Leeds 'un-conference'; an informal conference-style event hosted by Leeds Metropolitan University.

Once again this year East Leeds FM will include their Musicathon event as part of the Live at Leeds programme. Happening from 3pm on Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd May, the Musicathon is a non-stop broadcast of live music, performance and spoken word by artists from across Leeds. The whole event will be broadcast live from the Seacroft Methodist Chapel via the internet. Last year over 300 people performed as part of the Musicathon.

Venues

This year the festival will be even bigger, showcasing local talent alongside specially selected national names across 17 venues over Leeds City Centre - eight more stages than last year! The increased scale of the event means that there will be more tickets available and over 150 bands to see on the day! Key venues include The Cockpit, Leeds Metropolitan University, The Faversham, The Well and Brudenell Social Club. Added venues for 2010 include Nation of Shopkeepers, Leeds University (Stylus, Refectory and Mine), Leeds College of Music and The Wardrobe.
