Ireby Music Festival 2009


A wealth of folk music, workshops and sessions happens at various venues in this small village over the weekend, including St James Church, The Globe Hall, The Lion Pub, and also a 500 capacity heated marquee.

Acts confirmed include:
Friday: Spiers and Boden, and White Mansions - folk-opera from the Old South.
Saturday: Eddi Reader, The Peter Donegan Band, The New Rope String Band, Boo Hewerdine, Alan Kelly, Flossie Malavialle, Chris Millington, John Douglas, Jack McNeil & Charlie Heys, Rod Clements, Elaine Davidson & Danny Hart, the Ireby Singers, Catz, and clog dancers Fosbrooks. Weekend, Friday and Saturday nights have sold out. Tickets are still available for Saturday performances 10.30am 'till 5pm. Tickets were on sale priced as follows: £30 for the weekend; Friday evening £15, children (10-16) £8; Friday evening + Saturday afternoon until 5.15pm £20, children (10-16) £8; Saturday afternoon until 5.15pm £10, children (10-16) £3; Saturday evening from 5.30pm £18, children (10-16) £8; Saturday all day £20, children (10-16) £10. Camping per pitch: Friday £5; Friday and Saturday £8, Friday, Saturday and Sunday £10.

Expect the music venues to open from 7pm on Friday 22 May and 12.30pm on Saturday 23 May. Friday evening main stage is a concert. Friday Globe Hall is a late night dance. This year there will be a bigger main stage marquee to improve audience viewing and comfort however, the intimate atmosphere of the event will be maintained and the marquee capacity will still be restricted to 500.

Ireby is situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, 13 miles north of Keswick and 18 miles south west of Carlisle.
