Hull Folk Festival 2013


Hull Folk Festival celebrates folk culture, its traditional values and varied styles, with a two day event on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st August covering Hull Marina, Victoria Pier, Humber Street and the Old Fruit Market areas.

Line-up

Friday: The Hut People, Holy Moly & the Crackers, Tantz, Psychedelic Skiffle Band, Spare Hands, Haddo (Feat. Will Pound), Derek Waudby, Paula Ryan, Keystone, Bella Gaffney, Merlin’s Keep, Zeptepi, Jonathan Wright, Tim O’Connor, Mammal Hum (Acoustic), The Dyr Sister, Mike Rogers Band, Simon Kempston, Horse Guards Parade, and Laurel Canyons.
Saturday: Eliza Carthy with Saul Rose, Rory McLeod, Hessle Ceilidh Band, Shiznitz, Paul & Liz Davenport, Monkey’s Orphan, Half Deaf Clatch, Hase Waits, Hillbilly Troupe, Celtarabia, String Theor, Colleens Fancy, Tegwin and Dave, Cottingham Live, Chris Jordan, Dicky Deegan, Chris Scarlett, Keith Christmas, Jim Radford, Harri Watts Band, The Cod End, Beggars Bridge, Work In Progress, Martin Yelswel, Matt Thompson, 13 Veils, Happy Endings, Tom Skell, Crooked Weather, Joe Solo, Mighty and the Moon, Jim McShee, Kingstown All Stars, Jody McKenna Band, Bud Sugar, and Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra.

Tickets are priced at £22 for both day, and £10 for Friday or £14 for Saturday.

Across multiple venues around the Hull Marina, both indoor and outdoor stages will be filled with the sounds of folk music, and a chance to join in with traditional folk dancing, swing around the Maypole and try instrument making and songwriting. There will be an array of live folk sessions in the pubs, a main stage, a busker trail, an open mic warehouse for Hull's up and coming talent and ticketed events on the evenings, across both days.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
