HESFES 2014


A family festival now in it's 15th successful year, The Home Educators' Summer Festival (HESFES) takes place on Saturday 26th July to Saturday and August at Stonham Barns, Pettaugh Road, Stonham Aspal, Stowmarket, in Suffolk.

Line-up

The music line-up includes George Barnett, Hettie Bunker, Stuart O'Conner, Freya Ridings, Spider, Dads Do Disco, Jonathan Spurling, Tessa Ryan, Matt Franklyn, Captain Fabulous and the Rainbow Brigade, Patrick Channon, and Casey Birks.

Other activities include workshops, Childrens' Cabaret, Open Mic, Childrens' Disco, Cinema, The Travelling Library, The Teen Tent, Toddler Play Area, Home Education Talks & Discussions, Games Area, Teen Camping Area, Football Pitch, Speaker's Corner, Sports Day, and a Car Boot Sale.

The festival is not just for Home Educators, or home schooled children, as children who are in school and their families are also welcome.

Tickets are priced at £80 for an adult week ticket, child aged 7yrs to 17yrs ticket £62, child aged 3yrs to 6yrs ticket £20, child aged 2yrs and under can attend free. Electric hook ups are £40.Single day/overnight tickets also available.

Activities

Activities are included in the ticket price and include childrens' cabaret, open mic sessions, cinema, teen tent (and camping area), labyrinth, toddler play area, football tournament, theatre, games areas, legal questions, story time, sports day, childrens' discos, and more.

The site

The site is easily accessible by road & rail. Situated in the middle of peaceful countryside but within easy reach of supermarkets and large towns.

The event is run by a cooperative of volunteers and is non profit making and entirely self funding.
