Hatherleigh Festival 2010


Hatherleigh's music and arts festival is now in its 15th year. This year the festival returns to Hatherleigh town square from Thursday 22nd to Sunday 25th July, four days of street performances, music, workshops, and exhibitions.

Line-up

Ultimate Madness (Friday night), The Loose Salute, The Hot Tone Rhythm Boys, The FOS Brothers, Douglas E Powell and Central Casting, Nicola Clark, Pavlov and Eat the Rich. Sunday: a Combined Church Service including Callington Gospel Choir and a recital by local organist Roger Cleverdon. Closing this year's event will be David Bensons one-man show, 'Think No Evil Of Us: My Life With Kenneth Williams'.

On site

The Street Market, in the Town Square, offers crafts including unique jewellery, handmade glass, basket wear, floral creations and the quality eats gazebo, from lunchtime Saturday onwards, with Pig Roast, BBQ, Crepes, Fresh Fruit cups, and Creative Cupcakes with the local public houses only strides away.

Visual artists from around the region will be exhibiting their pieces over the four days at various locations throughout the town.

Workshops

There will be workshops on Saturday including Salsa dancing, Pro football coaching, Portrait sketching, Ukulele, Street Dance and the Festival Bookclub.

Tickets

Hatherleigh Festival was set up to bring new and exciting experiences to the local community so events are as keenly priced as possible, and many of them are free. Tickets for the workshops, Ultimate Madness and David Benson are available now by calling the Box Office on 01837 810624.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
