Hartington Folk Festival - CANCELLED 2011

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
Hartington Folk Festival has been cancelled due to poor advance ticket sales and two of the major sponsors pulling out (very late) due to the current financial climate. A statement says:

"We had to make the decision as the financial implications of running the event without the support of our sponsors and advance ticket sales were too great. With this being our third year with an international line up, we have not taken this decision lightly."

People who have purchased advance tickets to the event have been contacted and ticket money will be reimbursed in full.

Hartington Folk Festival returns for its fourth year to the village of Hartington on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May 2011 (Spring Bank Holiday).

Line-up

The weekend includes two nights of intimate folk music at one of Derbyshire's most scenic villages. The first acts to be announced are Jessica Lawson, 4Square, Chris Ricketts, The Finest Kind, Bella Hardy, Anna Massie, Laurie McNamee, Ffion Mair Thomas, Gavin Davenport, David Gibb, and Elly Lucas.

Tickets

Weekend ticket for all concerts and use of free shuttle bus and Hulme End campsites are priced at £40 for adults, and £34 for concessions. Day Concert tickets are priced from £10 to £12.

Other entertainment

This will be combined with traditional May Day entertainment including a Maypole demonstration by local school children, clog dancing and Morris dancers. There will also be Victorian fair ground rides and steam engine rides.

Food & drink

The festival also showcases small independent food and drink producers from Derbyshire and beyond at the village hall where food and drink stalls exhibit their products for sampling, tasting and sales.

Accommodation

The festival offers no accommodation at the event. There are plenty of accommodation options available in and around the village including campsites with the festival operating a shuttle bus throughout the weekend to local campsites.

More information will be here when available.
