The major beneficaries are expanded to include Greenpeace and Oxfam - in total good causes benefit to the amount of £250,000.

A new venue is the Jazzworld Stage, with world music, and a bit of jazz. The "oldie" spot is introduced as well, with Tom Jones appearing on the Pyramid Stage, much to the disappointment of those who'd been right at the front of the stage since first thing that morning in the hope of seeing U2 or Prince.

Other acts included: Blur, Television, The Fall, Curve, Primal Scream, The Levellers, PJ Harvey, Carter USM, James, The Breeders, Billy Bragg, Van Morrison, Kitchens of Distinction, Spritualized, The Shamen.
