Frome Folk Festival 2012


New for 2012 is the winter Frome Folk Festival which takes place at The Cheese and Grain and other town locations over two days Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February 2012.

Award-winning Irish songstress Cara Dillon, who lives in Frome, has accepted an invitation to be Patron of the inaugural festival. Frome Folk Festival will run from 9am until 11pm both days.

Line-up

Saturday headliners are Spiers & Boden, Sunday headliner is Steve Knightley and the line-up includes Chris Wood, Jackie Oates, Jamie Smith's Mabon, Belshazzars Feast, Pilgrim's Way, Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston, Bella Hardy, Jenna, Sean Lakeman and Kathryn Roberts, Luke Jackson, Gren Bartley, Dyer Cummings, and Tim Edey & Brendan Power, plus many more. Tickets

Early Bird weekend tickets are priced at £58 (£48 concessions) and that will be frozen right up until the event. A family weekend ticket for two adults and 2 children (aged under 15) is priced at £190. Day tickets, are priced at £32. More than 100 Morris dancers from three counties are due to flock to the picturesque Somerset market town of Frome for its first ever folk festival.

Camping

For those wishing to camp, there will be provision locally for tents and camper vans with Indoor camping available at the town's United Reformed Church, just a stone's throw from the festival venues. There are also numerous campsites, hotels and B&Bs in the area.

The event will also feature Ceilidhs, sing-arounds, workshops, jam sessions, Morris dancing, and market stalls.
