Crawley Irish Festival 2010


This celtic music festival is a family friendly event held on August Bank Holiday Sunday, 29th August, close to Crawley town centre. The festival offers lots of live music throughout the day from modern Irish/Celtic tunes to country and traditional harpists.

Line-up

The Dome stage will showcase Irish acts from Britain and Ireland including Borrowed Time, Martin Ruddy, Sean Cannon of Dubliners fame, who will appear with his son Robert Cannon. Pat Nugent and Mustang and Kathy Durkin.
The Traditional Stage welcomes some of the best traditional and folk acts from around the UK and Ireland including The London Lasses, Dun the Veil, Crannog, Celtic Crunch and Flying Toads.

Live Dance

Irish Dance displays have always been popular at the festival with live dance demonstrations from local dance schools and set dancing for festival goers with O'Brien School of Dancing and the Andromeda Edmonds School of Dancing. The Open Dance competition provides a great opportunity to showcase the very best of young Irish dancing talent in the South East.

Admission

Admission is priced at (TBC for 2010 ) £5 for adults and £2 for concessions including senior citizens and NUS card holders. Accompanied children under 16 are £1.

The site offers ample car parking.

On site

There will be stalls, an amusement area that includes slides, rides and all-round family including storytelling, magic shows and more.

For kids

A dedicated children's area, run by staff from Waterlea Adventure Playground will offer Storytelling, face-painting, magic shows and fairground rides (charge applies).

Community support

All proceeds from the Crawley Irish Festival are invested in community projects to assist in the promotion of Celtic and Irish cultural activities in and around Crawley.
