Coastival 2012


Coastival becomes the 'Rather Splendid Day Out' in 2012 when Yorkshire goes to the Seaside for a day's celebration of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, spoken word and comedy on Saturday 11th February 2012.

Line-up

Acoustic Lounge: 10 hours of FREE music headlined by Ishka with Alexander Christopher, Connor Lawlor, Jez & Dave, Ava & Dave, Josh Giddings, JJ Hill & Chris McGreevy, Rae Yaldren, Mat Harrop, Nursery, Anna Shannon, Bluebuds, Emily Coles, Tom Watton, Everyone An Army, Tom Townsend, Miriam Forrester, Nick Tudor, Graham Woolley, Holly Taymar & Christopher Bilton, Juniper Roots, and Tenacious B (The Tribute of Destiny).

Spa Grand Hall: Craig Charles, and Nick Pride & The Pimptones - £10

Spa Grand Theatre: Comedy Gala - line-up TBA

Suncourt Suite: DJ Tooley, DJs Kista and Filey Selassie - FREE

The comedy line-up includes Mundo Jazz, Desmond O'Connor who will compere, Abigail Collins and Monkey Poet - £8.

Coastival has been chosen to host the first part of a major theatre event by theatre company Slung Low.

Throughout the rest of the day there will also be art exhibitions and installations, as well as theatre and performance at a wide range of venues including Scarborough Library and Information Centre, Hull University Scarborough Campus and local galleries. There will also be art, dance and music sessions and workshops for children and young people through the Rollercoastival February Fiesta.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
