City of London Festival 2006

The 2006 Festival features a wide-ranging and eclectic programme which includes music, drama and poetry, installations and exhibitions of visual arts, film screenings, architecture, walks and talks.
The programme, this year, continues the theme of Trading Places so will include the creativity and performances of a number of Japanese artists alongside their European counterparts.
There will be three large-scale concerts in St Pauls Cathedral. These are listed as follows:
Tues 27th June: Brahams - A German Requiem
Tues 4th July: Duke Ellington - A Sacred Concert
Thursday 13th July: Fauré Requiem
There's also Mozart in the Mansion House on Tuesday 11th July. Twelve historic churches will host Postcards from Paris, Vienna and St Petersburg presented in partnership with BBC Radio 3 and featuring European soloists and ensembles plus there's a programme of free open-air events.
A Festival Club will also host performances, as well as serve refreshments on board the HMS President on the River Thames. This club wants to encourage audiences to visit the boat after other events, to continue to enjoy a musical environment every night from Monday 3 July until 13 July.
