Big Sexy Festy Party 2011

The Big Sexy Festy Party returns with another one day event held in a secret London location on Saturday 18th June 2011 and its free by donation. The event will be programming local unsigned high quality talent, music genres covered usually include an acoustic start, then roots reggae, punk, funk and Celtic tunes.

The event has been going for sixteen years and supports many good homeless causes on the way.

Line-up

Expect Flamenco, Irish folk, Gypsy music, Punk and other ethnic folk styles. All musicians are excellent local talent playing for free to support the cause. Clubbers, punks, rastas, hippies, artists, students, media types, musos and professionals, get stuck in at this very diverse community crowd pleaser.

Big Sexy Live Stage: The Popes are headlining, Mega!, Lil Lost Lou, Shkembe Soup, Steve MacBrayne, Mesha Bryan, Joan Coffey, Fernando Reyes, Sonya Rose, Kathy Gilliard, Trashcat.

Big Sexy Festy Party Soundsystem: (Big rig summer time house music special) DJ Jonny The Soul Selector, Mixmaster Stevie K, DJ Tattoo John (Alabama3), Mason Lewis Smith, DJ Progress and 500 chinese lanterns going off to start the Massive 50 performer strong circus fireshow with suspended firewall.

Also Hackney's very own Solution Sound System plays UK and Jamaican Roots reggae with a cross cultural kid friendly reggae jam for all ages.

Circus Area: Circus Space, Circomedia, Poi Passion, Firefreaks Show, and various No Fit State Circus crew and Big Sexy friends.

The Charity

In 2009 BSFP paid for 3000 Christmas dinners for the homeless. In 2010 they donated£7000 to Shelter from the Storm. It costs Shelter from the Storm £9.42 to give a warm safe bed with a two course meal, a shower and new clothes to a homeless guest. Donating to this event helps the organisers to take rough sleepers off the streets by providimg food clothes and shelter to londons homeless.

Donation

Please donate £10 and help deliver a fantastic ethical non commercial free festival that makes a change in its community. The donation (at least £10 - come on) is fully optional, but its not much to give for a brilliant free festival and it really will make a big difference to someone who is taken off the streets by their chosen charity.

Location

License confirmed in a central London park near a Zone One tube station. Its a secret location event, details to be released strictly by e mail 24 hours before the party.

The Festival

Three stages, ten bands, thirty DJs, five big VJ screens, fifty circus performers, 5000 people, a massive fireshow finale and one charity, Shelter from the Storm, a volunteer run night shelter for the homeless.

In the area

The event will have ten reasonably priced global food stalls and a massive cheap bar. You cannot bring your own alcohol. Friendly security. A big barbecue and table football too.
